Depends. Some reboots are better than others.

Indiana Jones was intended to be more like James Bond in that the lead would rotate eventually. It's just that it took Lucas and Spielberg ages to get back to make that 4th movie. Even before the 4th movie was out there were indications that a 5th movie was possible.

So, lumping it in with Robocop and the rest of them seems a tad unfair as this was the plan going back a fair ways.

I think that's because the studios do not want their properties ever going into the public domain... that's why they keep making it, even though it's going to be total fecal matters...

Does anyone honestly think a reboot could be worse than that abomination known as Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls? They could cast a dead carp as Indy and it would be better than that horrid piece of crap.

I personally think preventing these movies from going public domain is the least of their reason they want to reboot movies. Its all about getting money now.

Thats what people said after Robocop 3, and than the reboot ended up WORSE than Robocop 3.

I personally thought Robocop 3 was at least better than Robocop 2, I hated Robocop 2 with every fiber of my being.

I though 2 while no where near as good as 1, was infinitely better than 3.

I'm actually not one to jump on the hate bandwagon, but I honestly can't conceive of a movie sequel/reboot that could be worse than Crystal Skulls. I had low expectations for it since it was so much later than the last Indy movie and it was worse than i ever could have imagined. One of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Terrible, terrible abomination. Awful.
