And I'm basing that off of this ad.

Mostly.

I know nothing whatsoever about Ron Paul, but that's a damn convincing ad.
You can pretty much tell what it's going to say after watching the first five seconds.

In the end, it's just some more of American political furore. If Ron Paul was elected, I'd be willing to bet quite a bit on the continuation of the status quo (Obama on Guantanamo springs to mind). I'm not saying that he's a bad guy or that his ideas are wrong. I'm saying that politics is far more complicated than that.
He's a nutcase when it comes to domestic policy, but his foreign policy makes good sense. At least he wants to end some of the seemingly neverending wars, and that can only be a good thing.

His domestic policy would be even worse than the (other) nutters in the Republican party, but his foreign policy is a breath of fresh air.
They forgot to add that those americans that were labeled terrorists were killing and imprisoning other americans before chinese came.
Then you won't think much of him. The ad says what we're already doing and already thinking. Aside from that, Ron Paul's a human meme, he's only massively popular on the internet and not much where else.
Thing is that Ron Paul wants as little to do with other countries as possible. It's not just Afghanistan. It's not that which makes him an isolationist. He wants the US out of the UN too. That makes him an isolationist. The US could not survive with those politics given how reliant it is on other countries.
They spoiled the ending of the third world war. Or as I like to call it "How the [beep] could the Chinese loose in Operation Anchorage?"

Removing ourselves from the UN.... that's a new one to me. Seriously, there's only one morally decent, yet sadly ineffective presidential candidate, and that's the president we already have. All these other guys I'm expecting either bombs to drop on the first day, religious law handed across the nation or so much tax and budget cutting that we'll bankrupt the government 10 years sooner.
I actually really like that ad. Makes more sense than oh say.....Romney and Santorum threatening to bomb Iran or Gingrich and his moon colony. On second thought, i quite like that idea :). Republicans don't really do domestic policy: They just instigate massive disturbances overseas to distract from their own incompetence.
Obamas not gonna be losing much sleep people.
I think Ron Paul's proposed policy is too radical and not very reasonable and would most certainly fail, but I really like this ad. Focused on arguments, not on persons it's a good change. But even there you could argue if his radical plans are realistic or as good in the end as suggested.

This ad really had an impact on me, on both form and substance. I now want to know who is behind this, who is Ron Paul.
It doesn't matter who the president is. The president is a figurehead designed to hide the real seats of power in the government. If Ron Paul were elected, you'd see a very different president in office than he wants you to believe. The Obama that ran for office, and the Obama we have now are two different people imo.

I wouldn't be surprised if when a politician becomes President, they get taken into a back room, told how things really are, and told what they have to do not to end up like Lincoln or JFK.

Ron Paul is the only candidate I see doing a damn thing. He'd close Guantanamo, he'd end wars, and wouldn't start more, unless we're attacked.

He's understands economics better than anyone in politics. They say no one could have predicted the housing crisis, Ron Paul predicted it. For 30 years he's been consistent and has predicted crises.

He is against forcing beliefs on people, including his own beliefs. Ron Paul abides by the constitution. He doesn't take bribes or lobbying money. If you think the status quo isn't going to be shaken by his election, I have to believe you're wrong.

He's the only honest one in the bunch, and in this day and age, that is all I really want. I want a president that isn't going to beat around the bush, sugarcoating everything. I want the truth, no matter how cold it may be.

First of all, the housing crisis was no secret. Everyone knew the bubble was going to burst, and burst hard. There were legions of economists warning about that for years ahead of time.

Secondly, him correctly predicting crises probably just means that he's an alarmist and sees crises everywhere. However, it may be <tinfoilhat> that the reason he can predict them so well is because he CAUSED THEM! </tinfoilhat>
