TwilightBard: You know what? I would go see a 1960s style Batman movie, and probably enjoy it. I wouldn't want to see it overdone (Please please please no half-movie Origin again), but every once in awhile I see it as doing something good and different.
gameon: Changing the tone of a series does change the dynamic of it, for better or worse. In the Batman case, the old 60's movie had some laugh out loud moments (shark repellant). Light hearted. I find the new ones to be overly serious, and not fantasy enough (like the comics are). But that's just me. With James Bond, they also changed the movies to be more serious and dark. But i preffered The Dalton bond all action style, or Roger Moores comedy bond.
Well, yeah, you can change the tone in that regard, but, I'd like to see more of the cheesy Bat-themed gear. I want a real Batmobile, not the Tumbler (ok, ok, it was awesome in the first movie, and the pod was nice, but still, it's no Batmobile).
Although I do admit, Michael Caine was a truly awesome Alfred, I would love to see his Alfred paired off with a Bruce that wasn't so...hmmmm, trying to find the right word, but I guess Dark fits the bill. Someone who could crack a joke here and there and make it look like Bruce Wayne was more then just a mask.
