It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

gbaz69: Anyone happen to know if I can play the android/ipad version of KoPaP+1E on my pc somehow?
(I'm getting to far ahead of myself, these versions also probably have DRM of some kind, sigh)

If I can, they probably wont allow custom screen resolution right?

HypersomniacLive: I can't really answer the resolution question, but here's a link on how to run Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich on a Windows 7 PC via VirtualBox.
If that's not helping, searching for "run Android on Windows" should bring up plenty of results.
Android devices have come in a host of different resolutions and aspect ratios, all the way from 320x240 up to 1920x1080 (and beyond?), so I'd be surprised it the game didn't support at least a few of those, though you wouldn't get to choose (it'd automatically pick whatever seems most suitable to your device - which would be whatever the virtual machine or emulator reports, in this case).

Would it be possible to get the andoid os on my desktop? or is it limited to hand held hardware?
Would be nice to have options :P.
How do I find which of games have stand alone installers?

Click "install game" button on the page of any Desura game, and then click "download direct". If you see any installers listed, then it means the game has standalone installer.

Thanks, but can you mention a game which does have this so I can see what it looks like. I tried five of them, but couldn't find anything as mentioned.

edit: oh, okay, I see it, nevermind. Thanks again!

So, I have more DRM-free games than I thought! Pleasant suprise, thanks Desura :]

gbaz69: Good, cause I'm looking for some steam games, that have DRM-FREE alternative downloads.

I'm looking to get Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition DRM-FREE for my pc, and I don't think it excists.
Well, these pest developers finally managed to release DRM-FREE version for this game in Humble Android Bundle 9 (current), unfortunately in BTA section
There is SOME possibility that they upload unlocked installers to Desura, but...i wouldn't really hope for that. Kingdom Hearts (if i'm spell it right) is DRM-free in humble Store for half of year, but developers "dont have time" to upload builds on Desura.

Yes its possible, but its need awfully lot of tech mambo jumbo - in short, you need to run specially premade Android installation in virtual machine (virtualbox) with some additional configs. Unfortunately its easier sounds then actual process to get it working.

Thanks. I've all ready broken down and got it on steam. Lol. And I may even get the HB as well.

gbaz69: I'm liking how it is heavily indie focused, but I have some questions before I jump in.

Most of the games are stand alone installers right?
Some games require you to run the desura client in background (offline or online)?
And fewer only working via steam I've gathered?
Do some games require the desura client to all ways be on and online?

If only each game's page had more info on how it works, I would all ready be buying stuff there.

I'm browsing game pages now, and not one mention of drm or if it requires the desura client to run, or install.
I really hate blind buying.
Majority of the games have standalone installers (drm free - small number require a CD key :/. Tiny number are Steam only - annoying)
Dont need to run desura client at all if u dont want. Just run .exe
Small handful require Steam.
ps. guys, this is from when I first, ... first started posting here in gog forums. I learned a lot since then.
And I got all the answers I wanted, of course, continue posting your own questions and answer others questions in this thread.
But please, stop quoting me :D. ha ha ha.
Seriously... stop it..

...waits for a quote..
Damn necro's lol
Hah, sorry, I was looking for answers and didn't see the need to make a new topic. Well, now more people get to know this info, good for them.
There is way to close topics, does t?
