Roman5: Great to hear that 4 and 5 are releasing on DD platforms soon but...weren't 4 and 5 published by Ubisoft?
3, 4 and 5 were all published by Ubisoft, but I guess Cyan retained some rights to 5.

3 was developed by Presto Studios and 4 in house by Ubisoft.

EC-: I'll probably get downrepped for this but, the less Myst going around, the better.
..?

spindown: You are disappointed because GOG is not selling Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel and Spelunx and the Caves of Mr. Seudo? I think I can live with that.
I'd love to play Spelunx again, I loved that game as a child.

AFnord: Seems odd to not try to release the entire series on GOG & Steam. What about Myst 3 & 4? Don't Ubisoft own the rights to the entire series?
Ubisoft owns Myst 3 and 4, Cyan owns the other games and the brand.

Edit: ah, ninja'd by over half a day. I blame a tiny phone screen making it annoying to read whole threads.

Yah, reading GOG on a phone is a pain in the ass. Wouldn't be a bad idea to create a version of the site designed for phones.

GOG already has both Ubisoft and Cyan Worlds signed on, but releases from them tend to be fairly inconsistent and sporadic, so while GOG's policy of staying mumm in its dealings with publishers and with prospective releases means that real background information is generally hard to come by, I think we can safely read between the lines and assume that GOG's dealings with them have been difficult.

For example, we have PoP Sands of Time, but still no Warrior Within or Two Thrones. We have Settlers 2 and Heritage of Kings, but no Settlers 1, 3 or 4.

I thought Ubi had the rights to Myst 5 as well, but it would appear I was wrong.

And despite them both being here - getting them to cooperate with each other might be difficult, and they need to since one would earn profits from the brand and the other from the games themselves, and I imagine Ubi wouldn't want Cyan to earn anything from Ubi's games, even if the brand belong to Cyan (I believe Cyan might be more friendly and considering the possiblity to earn at least a little bit more from their brand if Ubi can accept not getting 100% of the sale profits).

You can live without Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel? Really? I'd kill for that game.

Hey, I want Osmo too. I don't really care for the rest.

ne_zavarj: Speaking about The Journeyman Project :
@TheEnigmaticT What happened with The Journeyman Project and The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time ?
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: We don't comment on the status of where we may or may not be in regards to releasing any given game ever. So: something may or may not be happening to games that may or may not be the ones above mentioned.

I think that's generic enough. ^_^
*checks the new release * Welll , well . What have we here ? :)
Looks like i have to complain more often . :p

Complain a bit about LucasArts please, nobody does that it seems :)

(Actually I'd prefer Microsoft Game Studios, but the joke is weaker if I said that)

I suppose that's fine. "With great power", and all that.
