I dont feel as strongly as the Op about this game , although I did find it mildly irritating , he is right about the music though ;)

BloodyGoodGames is a girl... :3
I just finished playing it. Well, playing is too much to say, but I enjoyed the story. It was brilliant. The best indie game story ever told for me.

And the moment when you realise why the rabbits... oh man... heartbreaking....

Also, one of the most beautiful soundtracks ever written.

Kunovski: I guess I don't know that many good emotional stories then ;) (not a surprise, as I don't read much, I only play games and watch stupid sitcoms :D
Head on nail there. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed is king.

Bloodygoodgames: And no, I actually love a story with a lot of dialogue (I'm a writer, so good dialogue is what I get off on), but this just doesn't have it.
Any computer\video games you would reccomend for this quality?

Fenixp: She thinks she should probably have been a guy (although if she'd been born one she'd probably have had to have been gay as she actually prefer guys)
avatar
Bloodygoodgames: Oh now that makes sense :)

Then I'd probably like her.

I'm actually one of those really girly looking girls (well, women, I'm getting up there in age), you know flowery dresses and long hair, but I think like a guy most of the time.

I'm matter of fact, decisive, straightforward, don't take shit from anyone and have no problem telling you when I've got a problem with you.

My dad calls me "a handful", which in British terms means " a complete pain in the ass" :)
What is most rigidly defined? Masculinity or femininity?

Ivory&Gold: Any significance to that?
Yes. The significance that bloodygoodgames is dead inside. Did you notice ? She didn't mention Blackwell either !

(Plus, Sam and Max don't make her laugh. I think she's a corpse.)

OR maybe a vampire...
They should make a movie out of this game's story. I would cry a River, if you know what I mean...

(Note: I haven't actually played the game, so I'm just guessing here. :p)

Well, it's similar in some ways... And I liked that movie too.

But I want the exact adaptation!!!!!!!111

Ivory&Gold: I haven't played To The Moon myself, so I can't really comment on it, though I do remember someone linking to one of the songs once and the lyrics were painful.

I have, however, played the atrocity that is Fahrenheit, which, if I remember correctly, you hated for similar reasons. I also notice that you've mentioned both Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale in your list of favourite games, but not Planescape: Torment. Any significance to that?

My guess is that your problem is that exposure to literature and film has lead you to develop certain standards concerning issues like writing or image composition.
Ivory....you noticed :)

So far, NOT a fan of Planescape. Tried to play it a couple of weeks ago and the controls are atrocious. That whole wheel thingy .....incredibly annoying. I stopped playing after an hour as I just didn't have patience. (I'm incredibly incredibly busy, so when I have to waste time getting the most basic game function like the controls to work correctly I tend to just stop).

Planescape IS a game I'll go back to eventually as it does look like a great game, but that will have to happen when my backlog goes down a bit :)

Didn't like Blackwell much either. The first game was okay, the rest....Meh? Boring characters, not particularly well written or much of a story.

Hated Sam and Max. They're trying to create a game with a 'British-style of humor' - they missed it completely :)

Hey, no, still in Thailand.

Just a month's vacation in Spain. I meet my parents in London every six months (they fly into London from the US) and then we all go to Spain for a month's vacation.

They're house hunting there (my aunt and uncle already own a summer house there and we'd like to be in the same area --- near Alicante), so they're hoping to move there permanently next year. I'll probably do six months in Thailand and six months in Spain eventually -- love both countries for different reasons!!

Off topic, but how is Thai as a language to learn? Tonal languages scare me very, very much.
