Freespace 2 hands up.
Former game no longer in the catalog: Operation: Flashpoint

Since it is no longer available here, I'll say I-War 2. About to play it through again.
I already own it, but if I didn't and I could buy only one game on GOG, I'll definitely go for Might & Magic 1-6 compilation. Endless hours of fun and adventure, provided you like old-school rpgs.
The Spellforce games are on sale on steam this week. I hear a lot of good things about Gothic/Gothic 2 so that'd probably be a pretty good pick since you seem to be looking for an expansive adventure game. I'm currently playing a smaller Dungeon Crawler RPG called "Arx Fatalis" that I picked up from Gogs weekend sale and I think its really great. Though I've seen estimates that you only get around 10-20 hours of gameplay out of it, that suits my attention span just fine.

If you're looking at all types of games here though rather than just fantasy adventure or roleplaying I can heartily recommend the point and click adventure game Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.
Another World
Looks so good, and I'm so broke. :P
Settlers 2.

load up, set them going, read a book while listening to the awesome music ^_^
I'd go with Outcast seeing as I can get Total Annihilation elsewhere.

2 pence: Personally I don't like Gothic 2 at all. Very, very clunky and unfinished-feeling. There's no real reason to play it now we have Risen by the same developers (who seem to have really stepped up their game since). It also seems to be unplayable on Nvidia cards now, which is another reason to avoid it.

Two Worlds is better. Not perfect, but worth saving up the extra for. Better still I'd recommend saving up for something like New Vegas, Risen or Divinity 2.

Seriously? Is it that good? I own the boxed epic edition and I only played for about ten minutes :o

Well, if you are looking for a serious, hardcore RPG then you will of course be disappointed. I'd say it is more of a casual, action adventure RPG. But I like the simplicity, and enjoyed some 60-70 hours spent playing it.

Prior to becoming a GOG member I already wanted that game, but it was not available from local gaming stores. So that's why I answered that to this thread question.
Carmageddon 2

Hands down one of my favorite (if not THE favorite) of all time.
Interstate 76

One of my all time favorite games...

And I got it here :-)
I want both Baldur's gate II and Neverwinter Nights DE could buy em both right now but i'll see what's on sale this weekend coming up, hey maybe even Wednesday if they are still gonna do one day promos (pretty please)
Planescape Torment. I don't really think I need to say why :p.

Blood 2. The original was great but the second game I loved more than any other solely for the retardedly evil Gideon. You don't get both a pretty epic storyline and a villain so over-the-top evil that a cutscene consisting of nothing but him kicking puppies would not feel out of place. Not since Blood 2.

Also, the music in Blood 2 is probably among my favorite videogame music ever. Minimal but memorable.
