Yes, I have seen that video before. It's pretty hilarious and accurate.
He forgot the infamous QTE.

Grrr, those are quite annoying.
I know that video, it's really meh. I didn't find it funny since everything was forced, the whole Grunting and moaning the guy playing does is basically a laugh track for a bad sit com. The Doom one is much better, it at least has some trust for the audience (the the scatological title is a bit childish.)

I honestly think the only reason people like this is that there's a big group that dislike modern FPS games, and in a way they have a right since they are radically different to the old games and there aren't many games comming out for that niche of FPS gamers and it's very frustrating to be in that niche. I'm having the same problem with JRPGs, I'm in a forgotten niche.

Still doesn't make the video less lazy and forced in it's humor.
I think a lot of gamers saw this video.. but we really need to throw this video right into devs face.. or just uppercut them with this video. Those devs intentionally dumbing down games (easier to make dumbed games, less work, small maps, less everything)..

Fenixp: ... Yeah. I'll take Far Cry 3, Bioshock or Metro 2033 over Quake any time, thank you very much. They're nothing like what the video is making fun of? I know
Yeah I don't know what shooters the guy in the video's been playing, because today's games are pretty good.

Awesome gameplay and level design.
Catacomb 3D is still the king.

'today's games' doesn't necessarily mean CoD/Battlefield.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R and ARMA are technically 'today's games'.

(Yes, I know that video's of Medal of Honor...herp derp on my part)

There are games which do it, but title of the video suggests all of them do

True, but keyboard bashing was quite accurate. I hate when games don't let me skip the fucking logos at the beginning.

Except ARMA titles you would have a big diffuculty finding a modern military shooter game without invisible walls, instant death on leaving the combat zone, enemies spawning right behind the corner and other annoying shit.

I wish just CoD and MOH series just stopped pretending singleplayer has any value in their franchises.

What does Quake have to do with Modern Military Shooters?

You know, the video you were replying to wasn't about Quake but about Medal of Honor.

and games like that are freaking horrible. Even Modern Warfare 1, the famous Pripryat level, you are being held by hand entire level: go, kill that dude. if you kill the other - you're dead. Look out, enemy patrol! lay down here! or if you don't lay down here but 5ft away - you're dead! Quick, shoot that guy, remember about the wind! But no matter where you shoot, the outcome is exactly the same!

There is nothing worse than modern military shooters...

I just watched the original video link in my first post again and I have to say it made me laugh yet again. I really wasn't expecting anyone to get up in arms or upset by it at all. I just posted it for laughs. After all, we've all seen everything the video points out in newer games haven't we? I mean, it isn't like the guy was inventing stuff. And at the end there is a little reminder of how much fun that good old game was, which it was and still is actually. Quake modded up looks really good and is just as fun as ever to play, maybe more if you factor in the nostalgia.

I did also go watch some other ones about Doom which were funny too.

I don't think anyone should feel the guy means all modern shooters suck and life isn't worth living anymore, etc. He's just poking fun at some changes which are clearly not so great or at least debatably not so great.

The Cynical Brit makes some valid points in his video too but in my opinion he tends to get too upset. They're just games. Everything is going to be okay. :D

This basically sums up my thoughts. There isn't anything wrong with enjoying both retro FPS games and modern FPS games. In some ways, the older ones were better like in terms of level design but in some ways, the modern ones are better in terms of controls and, of course, graphics.

Of course this doesn't stop some nostalgic dickheads from thinking that they're better than everyone else in the world just because they were around when Quake and Doom were still new or from bashing someone for having a different experience than them. I especially like when they say "that's cause you suck CORPORATE dick!!!111one1" due to the irony of their statements.

LOL, at least Doom had the decency to put toxic or lava pools in those places :P
