Aha, so GOG simply give us a game that could (maybe to a lot of people) to go unnoticed. Thank you for the information.

Here is a list of all the free stuff GOG has given away this year which is far more then any previous year, this is really amazing if you think about it since no other digital distribution service is quite as generous to their customers as GOG is.
1. Dungeon Keeper Gold from 15 February to 16 February 2014
2. Magrunner: Dark Pulse from 18 June to 19 June 2014
3. OMERTA: CITY OF GANGSTERS (4 DLCS INCLUDED) on 24 June 2014 (within a 3-hour window)
4. Torchlight on 24 June 2014 (within a 3-hour window)
5. Still Life 2 on 24 June 2014 (within a 3-hour window)
6. Alan Wake's American Nightmare on 25 June 2014 (within a 30 minute window)
7. The Art of Playing (movie) permanently free from 27 August 2014 onwards
8. TPB AFK: The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard (movie) permanently free from 27 August 2014 onwards
9. Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 on 15 October to 18 October 2014
10. Little Big Adventure from 07 November to 08 Novermber 2014
11. Mount & Blade from 12 November to 14 Novermber 2014
12. The Witcher 2 on 18 November 2014
13. The Gamers (movie) on 18 November 2014
14. Age of Wonders (limited keys) on 04 December 2014
15. Akalabeth: World of Doom permanently free from 24 December 2014 onwards
In my opinion we could hardly ask for anymore from GOG after this, so even if they don't giveaway another free game for Christmas (similar to their 6 year anniversary celebration) we should still be thankful for the awesome games that GOG released this year along with all the freebies. :)
EDIT: Correction, the free release of Akalabeth: World of Doom is indeed the Christmas gift as KiNgBrAdLeY7 also highlighted in the above post. :)

I was VERY overjoyed to see Akalabeth on here. I'm only 16, but I am so intrigued and addicted to old minimal rpgs, like nethack, and now this!

Nice list, thanks for posting.
A few things don't really fit on there, but they were very cool of GOG to throw our way this year as well. Witcher Adventure Game (beta only) was given away and during Spring Insomnia games were given away randomly when clicking the link to buy them - I got multiple freebies.

Yeah, there was definitely more free stuff as you mentioned. I only included the freebies that were intended for everyone on GOG. I was quite unlucky along with many others for the random click freebies unfortunately. :)

Nope, sorry. There's going to be no Christmas present from Santa Gog this year.
You've all been naughty boys and girls, see. All using your Steam accounts to play games instead of buying them here and freeing your minds from the slavery that is DRM. So Santa Gog is going to give you all the equivalent of a piece of coal, which will be the following game:
Space Hulk (1990s version)
If you thought the more recent version of Space Hulk was bad, it doesn't hold a light to this pile of crap. I mean, it was truly awful. Released on PC, then on PS1. It played like a crappy 8 bit game. It didn't even try to be a Doom clone. In fact, if it had been a ZX Spectrum game, it would've been one of the worst games on that computer, and that's saying something.

I love GOG but would love them more if they shipped a bottle of 12 year old scotch to all their faithful customers.
(I could ask for more than 12 but one must not be greedy.)

I think Akalabeth is a pretty awesome Christmas gift. I couldn't be more pleased. :)
