In former times January and the first full moon of the year was called Ice Moon in my region. I think it's nice not to forget these things, therefore my first giveaway of the year is dedicated to the Ice Moon.

Prize: $5.99 GOG game of your choice

jjsimp donated part of the prize, so please don't forget to say thanks!

Requirements: Join date before January 2014 and minimum Rep of 10

- You can do with the key(s) whatever you like! If you are happy, I am as well.
- You can enter for someone else, who's already in.
- The giveaway will run for 1 week.
- Random.org will decide.

To enter, say you're in and share something you know about January, no matter what.

Good luck.
I´m not in because I don´t have a Rep of 10 yet but Ice Moon sounds pretty interesting, so+1 for that.

Thanks for the giveaway; I'm in.

I know that January is named after Janus, the Roman god of doors and transitions. How's that for some low-hanging fruit?

I'm interested in this "Ice Moon" business, though - any story behind that, other than the obvious (it being winter)?
January is the first month of the year.

I´m also interested in that. I´m doing some research right now and the only thing I can find are ice moons in a modern astronomical context and some Finnish Crime-Novels named "Ice Moon".
I'm in. Thanks De "Ice Moon" Mignon!

January is named after Janus - The Roman god of doors. (I don't believe it either).
January is the month of my birthday.
It's also the month I was dignosed with degenerative arthritis (back in 2000), and the following year was the start of long term unemployment as a result.
On top of that it was the month I started the grind to self employment - but motivated as a result of losing a friend on New Years Eve / the wee hours of New Years Day.

Not in, but cheers!
I'm in, in january second is my birthday :P same date but in 1788 Georgia becomes the fourth state to ratify the United States Constitution.
Thanks you very much, I am in.

Heath Ledger died in January.
I'm In. I wouldn't exactly call myself Ice Moon really... there's another word I'd use. Oh, what is it, it's on the tip of my tongue...

January is Janvier in French.
Cheers! :>

Lets see now...January is a cold month in my experience. :s

January is the first of the year and it is one of the hardest to get through because it is cold and windy
Thanks DeMignon and jjsimp for the giveaway! I'm in.

What do I know about January? You do not pronounce it the way this guy says, don't be fooled: Pronunciation Manual courtesy of Ellen
January is not only the first month of the year, but it also comes before February! What a coincidence, right?
