Sounds more like you were yard buying instead of selling.
I think both Darksiders games are perfectly fine but for some reason I stopped playing both at around 20-30% progress:/
Its great, DS1 is very good as well, try to play it first if possible, while it's not necessary, it will give you more perspective.
I felt DS 2 was excellent. Playing as death was exceptionally well executed, aesthetic was absolutely beautiful, and ... Well, just a steal for 4 bucks.

I liked it, but then again, I also liked the first game. Just play it and see how it goes...

I also picked up one of those sega emulation consoles, the one that has 40 sega games built in. I got it for 3 bucks. surprisingly, its not a bad console. music is a little messed up, but otherwise, its a pretty good console.

I know, it's amazing that i could find it brand new, unopened, for that price.

Haven't played it that much. Darksiders is one of my favourite games ever (and I already beat it two times, I will probably do it another time) and I was very disappointed by the sequel. I hate the whole RPG thing: the big world with dungeons, quests and the loot, enemies with levels and stuff... I don't know who had the idea to turn the game into an offline World of Warcraft but he deserves to be kicked in the balls. Also I very much dislike the game world, the character designs and especially Death. I thought he was gonna be even darker and more menacing than War but he feels like War's baby cowboy brother.

Before I got it I read a few reviews that suggested that it was an improvement over the original game in every possible way but I seriously don't feel that way. It's probably still a fantastic game all in all but it's so different from what I was expecting and what I wanted that I have a hard time liking it.

Oh come on, that comparison is just unfair. The character design might seem a bit similar, but that's because both Darksiders games and WoW go for this cartoony aesthetic. Aside from that, the world is very small and tight, navigating it only takes short periods of time (all of the worlds to be more accurate), and it takes the metroid-ish elements to a whole new level with optional dungeons - which also adds a new layer to exploration.

Aside from that, combat system is just as far from WoW as you can humanly get, being far, far more hack and slash than an RPG, as well as all the combat and some non-combat areas having a lot of hack-and-slash like platforming, separating it from a typical RPG even further.

As for the character of Death, it would feel weird if he was just a more badass War - as it stands, I felt he had much more actual personality than War ever had. Death is sneaky, stone-cold and cynical. Just as I'd imagine death to be.
I thought Death was a better character than War tbh.
I used to wear those all the time before I moved up here and had to switch to boots.
