also the uber pc i have got is a intel original rip off that does not have a pci express slot

GameRager: If it has an AGP slot there are still some AGP x8 cards available for cheap.
nope intel went ahead and did the favor of removing that too, the only thing it has is the crappy 4x pci slots bottom line never buy anything that says intel original motherboard

Swap mobo for cheap yet compatible model that can hold all your current stuff plus can be added to later...problem solved.

I'm not really sure which bits of this are relevant so I'll just post the full names, but how would this system do?

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1024MB GDDR5
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.2GHz
4GB RAM (DDR3)

I'm assuming it'll more than meet the minimum but that doesn't really mean much since it could reach it by cutting corners all over the place. The parts are still in the boxes so I haven't got to try it out on other games yet and I have no real knowledge of the comparative levels of PC hardware.

You'll be able to play at any resolution up to and including 1920x1080, and with options all on or set to high. Sweet system BTW, I have similar specs: Phenom 2 x4 965 BE @ 3.4 Ghz., 3GB DDR2 Ram, and a Radeon HD 5770 w/ 1GB DDR5.

StingingVelvet: I think an 8600m is really pushing it. It might run assuming the 8600m has the same shaders as the 8800, but man would it run like crap.

Time for a new laptop if you want to play the latest PC games. Or get a desktop for gaming, they're much cheaper not only to buy but to upgrade.
Yes, it seems like it is time for a new computer but can't afford one until next year. :( Well life is not so bad, at least my PC can run most GOG games. :)

The only thng im worried about is my GPU.

My 4870 1GIG overheats so im using a 4650 512mb (Kindly donated by a fellow GOGlodyte)

From what I have read, it may run on the lower settings but im not certain.
