GameRager: NWN2 and TW1 use the same engine.....TW2 doesn't use it so it should be fine. The problem with TW1 using the NWN2 engine though is that it's buggy as hell, leading any game made with it to lag badly even on systems that can handle running the games using it on high settings.
Again TW2 uses the FO3 engine so it should be ok....I still wish they'd fix the buggy lag problems with running TW1 on high everything on a system with specs over and above the recommended though.
macuahuitlgog: So if my computer can run Fallout 3, it can run The Witcher 2? Why did they list such high minimum requirements for The WItcher 2 then? Again TW2 uses the FO3 engine so it should be ok....I still wish they'd fix the buggy lag problems with running TW1 on high everything on a system with specs over and above the recommended though.

rooshandark8: Gameragar are you feeling ok, Fallout 3 Engine is Gamebryo, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Engine is using Red engine a brand new engine dedicated to creating games with the design and features developed in house by CD Projekt RED Hense the name RED engine Post edited May 06, 2011 by GameRager

Do you mean Fallout 3? When did they say that? All I've read so far was the TW2 used a new engine that CDPR wrote themselves. I can run FO3 at max settings just fine but the pictures from TW2 seem far more impressive than anything on FO3.

GameRager: They basically licensed the FO3 engine, modified it, and slapped a new name on it. GamezRanker

I have a laptop with GeForce GT 335M
I'm curious about how well will TW2 run here.

From what I gather from Wikipedia:
Fallout 3 utilizes the Gamebryo engine, and The Witcher 2 utilizes the RED engine. Both engines utilize the Havok physics engine.
I'd guess that the physics engine acts as a sort of plug-in to the main game engine (to handle calculations relating to in-game physics, etc).

liquidsnakehpks: hmm its looks like the game requires a dedicated 512mb gfx card to run smooth, anything less would mean slow motion mode, i guess i will be watching someone else play... again ....
GameRager: Why not just buy a better card? Some 1GB cards are around 40 bucks now. also the uber pc i have got is a intel original rip off that does not have a pci express slot

I think an 8600m is really pushing it. It might run assuming the 8600m has the same shaders as the 8800, but man would it run like crap.
Time for a new laptop if you want to play the latest PC games. Or get a desktop for gaming, they're much cheaper not only to buy but to upgrade.
