I remember hearing about GOG a while back before it launched. There was some buzz but I more or less forgot all about it, but fairly recently I kept coming across references to GOG wherever I went like the universe wanted me there. Once I had a look around I thought ,great I like a lot of these games but I already have a lot of the good ones, but I do see one or two that sound interesting. Next thing I know I'm getting sucked into the whole format which seems deliberately geared to be like crack.

All the announcements about up coming games and publisher signings make me constantly curious about what is happening next. I'm always on GOG looking for games I missed or to see what has just come out, or what is going on sale for the weekend. I have even been known to check in on breaks at work to see what game was released. I cant help myself and its going to be a long time before I get around to playing all the games I have gotten or am going to get. I don't think I can stop. I don't think I even want to.

Ditto my friend Ditto!
It’s the forum to, its very existence; it’s just another excuse to wander on here as often as possible. Seriously, want to keep drawing people in? Release mystery games often and add a community.

Oh well, I could be spending money on worse things.

And random sales. Especially if they are limited like the one day ones.

Aw, those random sales. But, hey, we could all be spending money on worse things. :)

Like what? The next crapshoot "exercise system"(rubber band or whatever plastic crap they churned out at the factory) perhaps?

Mr. Gog draws the line there, just look at what happened to GR's thread on that.

Crack fine, hookers not fine.

Why, I find this highly puzzling...
IMO: hookers > crack ;3.

All I can say is "wow". I especially liked the bit about December. :) So how many games do you actually have now and how many have you finished or at least played a bit?

Myself, I check the site just about every day in case there's a juicy update or just something interesting going on. So yes, I would say I'm a GOG addict. Surprisingly, I've managed to keep my game buying somewhat under control (I have about 30 titles at the moment). Since I've got quite a backlog of games both here and on Steam anyway, I try to only buy games that I want to play right now or if there's a good sale going on.

That was a nice read. I see your heart is true, respect.

I'm a bit of a GOG addict as well. I've been registered for exactly a year today (365 days, muahahahaa) and I already have 35 games (6 of which were presents from either GOG or my sister). There are a bunch of games I want but can't afford yet, and I've had to (extra)plan my budget so I can buy Witcher 2 at launch and add to the "no DRM title sells too" statistic. I wish I had more time to play and a bigger budget. The community is to my liking, it's far less scary than most I've encountered.

I keep recommending GOG to all gamers I know, but thus far not a single one of them has taken the bait. I think it might be because I have a crazy glow in my eyes when I talk about it ("VINTAGE GAMES MAAN, CHEAPO! THE BEST YO, NO DRM EITHER, JOOIN UUUS!").

Maybe I should write a GOG poem/ode:
Good old games like a spring breeze/ so get in the car, please, /
there's a business lion about, / and he'll limit your installations to naught, /
but inside my dear GOG wagon, / life is like (vegetarian) bacon.

/edit: italics isn't enter friendly, apparently
