You'll need to contact all the publishers, makes some phone calls, do some paper work. Might take a couple years.

Now get on it!

Now, that was funny :D I like it! +1 rep
NOOOO.... At least get Hexen/Heretic, and Severance: Blade of Darkness on here! And I NEED, NEED, NEED a working copy of Azrael's Tear.

The lack of Thief/System shock really bothers me. Those are classics! When you have games like Dark Reign 2, why would you neglect all-time classics that built entire genres, like Wasteland?

Because GOG needs everyone who owns the games to agree to sell them.
yeah he is new alright :D. Welcome to GoG, I know some games are not on here yet that you want but please be patient. Good things happen to those who wait :).

Nah GOG just doesn't care about these games. I mean, Thief? System Shock? What are they? I've never even heard of them. With a name like System Shock, it must be a really awful game.

-edit- I just Googled for Shadowrun. Looks like a really crappy game. No 3D graficks, srsly? And are those...numbers and stats? Ugh...

-edit2- Also what kind of a name is Thief? Sounds really awful, and the graphics! It's 3D but sheesh those are some awful graphics...

Naw, it's super fun. First, place your computer down on the carpet and remove the side panel. Then, shimmy across the room in sock covered feet while simultaneously rubbing a balloon against your hair. When you get to the computer, give a nice big smack to the exposed motherboard while screaming "WHAMO!".

Your computer will definitely continue to work after that, no problem.

Wait, I know you're tricking me. It's supposed to be a game. That means I'm supposed to place the CD into the disc drive first before doing that.

Reminds me of the time I tried hacking into a friend's Youtube account. One user tipped me off that by pressing Alt + F4, I could hack into any account I wanted. I was pretty sure it worked, but everytime I did that, Firefox would just close on its own. Damn buggy piece of software.
Regardless, Dark Heart of Uukrul & Azrael's Tear are on my recommended list of games for GoG to purchase and add to the "Sell" list. Azrael's Tear is Microprose, and I know other Microprose games are on here, so just suggesting...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to find, or get running, otherwise..

Because GOG staff have been able to strike a deal to get Dark Reign 2 on GOG. Games not on GOG? Not so much.

I fear it isn't that simple. First of all, they don't just "buy games and add them to their sell list". They have to make all kinds of deals and whatnot with everyone who holds those special rights to the games/franchises/names/characters/muppets. After that, they have to actually acquire the games, and if it's IMPOSSIBLE to find, then the GOG staff might have a hard time acquiring it (since they can't even find it). Should they manage to find it, they have to get it running for pretty much everyone (and if it's impossible, tough luck).

They really aren't just deciding things like "Well, we really shouldn't release Thief and System Shock and make tons of money. Let's just release Dark Reign 2 instead" just to mess with people.

Also, there are about a dozen new begging threads like this every day. The chances are at least 20 people have already asked for the games you want. That is why you might get a cold/mean response with these threads, as most have already realized that if you explain this to everyone, it'll eat away your youth (I'm a bit bored at the moment).

Anyway, welcome to GOG.

You still don't understand. It's not a matter of GOG "deciding" to sell a game and just start selling it. Nor is it a matter of GOG "buying" games to sell.

These are, roughly, the steps involved in getting a game into the GOG catalog:

1) Find out who holds the rights to the game. This can be next to impossible with some old games, and generally it's more difficult the older the game is. Sometimes, the original developer has changed hands a number of times over the years, gone bankrupt and had their assets auctioned off, had specific IPs sold off to others, etc. Sometimes the rights to a game are split up between several different parties, which makes it even more problematic.

2) Having found the rights holders, GOG needs to convince them to sell the game on GOG. This can be a very lengthy process, provided the rights holders are interested at all.

3) Now GOG needs to negotiate a contract with the rights holders. How large a percentage of each sale goes to whom, etc.

4) Now the technical work begins. If it's a DOS game, it's not so difficult. DOSBox does most of the work, but if it's an old Windows game, sometimes it needs some kind of technical black magic to run on a modern OS. Sometimes they have to give up in the end. As far as I know, they never get access to the games' source code, so they are limited to what they can do "from the outside", so to speak.

5) Then the whole thing needs to be wrapped in an installer. Any extras they can find need to be put together, and a page and forum for the game needs to be made and added to the site.

6) Now they can start selling the game.

So go easy on your "add this, do that" rhetoric. It's just not that simple. You can, however, vote for the game on the wishlist, and talk about the game on the forum with others who remember it as fondly as you do. And if you're lucky, one day it'll be here on GOG. But it won't be because you made a post saying "ADD THIS GAME GOG".

Edit: Ninja'd! I had to do some other stuff in the middle of writing my post.

Don't worry, Thi4f is soon to be unleashed onto the world. Just look at the name. HAH! The wit.
