I want a pure warrior, but want to play as a different race than a nord. Any suggestions on race?
Redguard
Orc, in case of doubt always pick an orc.

My Orc Chef - Archmage was overpowered, and being a Mage is the least common class for orcs.

Well the orcs are ugly in oblivion, but, I might. I like pure strength, but I also like a little bit of strategy, so I am picking warrior,
All characters are ugly by design in Oblivion. Grab yourself a decent helmet and thankfully your want to play in first person and don't suffer from seeing yourself in the mirror quite often.
I could come up with an orc name easily. "Reytog-melok". That sounds fine for an orc. but I have no idea on waht to name a redgaurd without it being utterly racist like "tyrone"

That is true. Well then, I will try an orc. Actually, in all honesty, I don't think orcs are all that bad looking, it's my friends opinion that they are ugly. Sure, they look more badass in skyrim, but still. Reytog-Melok will be my character.

Even Argonians?
I was orginally a nord barbarian, But I soon learned that I wsn't the type to just hit stuff. I was the type that hits stuff but also uses a shield, and I am not the one to be agile, So redgaurd is out. I want to make a tank like warrior, with great blocking skills and great strength. So yeah, orc sounds good.
Redguard?

Karrod the Butcher of Hares
or
Pyke the Spear-Thrower

anyway, you know you are playing oblivion if your faces are ugly...

misteryo: Redguard
Ditto.
The only problem with Redguard is that a well crafted one takes all the challenge out of the game. I had a short scrawny female redguard with purple hair and she still kicked everyone's ass.
So redguard is best?

Redgaurd it is, but I don't know a good original name.

HIckem Hawker shall be my name.

Nothing is "best" in Oblivion. Go and have fun with your character is best. :-)

If you nor not completely retarded you can play any character in Oblivion and having fun.*)

*) In case you are, I feel sorry for you, but ask someone around to put the difficulty slider to LOWEST,thats left, you know, the side where you start reading things and then you can enjoy the game even playing as a mudcrab loving elf with gay hair and ridiculous pants as headgear.

That's a little bit offensive. You are acting like mentally challenged people are as dumb as most modern gamers. Shame on you. They are better than that.

I'm sorry, no offense intended, being pants on head retarded doesn't mean the same thing as mentally challenged people in my book.
But anyway you don't need any deep thought strategy of wised grumpy gamers to enjoy Oblivion. Especially while creating your character. You must be able to indentify with you character in the way you need. Thats all...
There are people playing as a Breton Fighter who got fed up with casting magic spells and picked up an axe to chop people's heads off, play the game you want to play.
