I've gone all my life without ever buying a single Blizzard game. That video isn't about to make me change that =)

I am still undecided on Starcraft II. Yes, it's Blizzard, and the game looks great. However, this is the post-WoW Blizzard, and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable supporting a game that we be sold for $150 ($50/SKU, 3 SKUs).

Yeah, this might be one of those games I make sure I grab an awesome graphics card AND a brand-spanking-new PC for. Who cares if LAN support isn't there? This will be just plain fun on its own!!

I'm referring to their actual games (StarCraft, Warcraft, Diablo). Not the ones they made in the 1980s that nobody cares about and that Blizzard denies ever making.

But, will the game have any form of DRM attached to it? More bells and whistles with DRM is much less enticing to want to buy the game.

Other than more tightly integrating the games with Battlenet? I don't think so (of course, the slightly crippled guest mode is available, at least in SC2. Dunno about D3 but I guess it'll be about the same)

They seem to have shifted BNet from a multiplayer service to a form of DRM. From the information available thus far it seems you'll need to be logged into BNet even for standard single-player, and although there is a "guest mode" available for single-player that doesn't require you to log in it sounds like it will be a crippled experience.

Afaik, that guest mode will have the full functionality of the single player campaign, but not the bonus stuff, like tracking achievements, stats and stuff like that.
Something similar to Steam, when you start HL2: EP2 for instance, and disconnect from the internet, you can play the game, but you won't earn any achievements.

So, they used the builds from SC Ghost for the sequel. Oh well, if I do buy it, it'll be for the fan made SST inspired third person mods which'll be fun.

Thanks for the DRM answers; I think I take a pass on the game for now to see how it all works itself out before I give my money away for a game I will not install due to DRM.

If your talking about the 3rd person ghost footage that was all done in the Starcraft 2 engine.

I remembered all the Neverwinter Nights mods people did when I saw this. I know there were a few that were MMOs, where the server always saves your character and you're playing with tons and tons of people. How awesome would a WoW mod be? Very.
