Here are just a few words for GOG: Your the best!

This post is here becous i searched GOGs forums for RYG and Reclaim your Game, and i couldent find anything.

I was browesing my friend google while installing a game and i remeberd that this was a EA game and came to think about the complicate scheemes and programs those games bring me, im thinking SecuROM here and i never did get that program (unlike gog ofcours ;) )

Anyways i came across RYG - Reclaim Your Game wich is a sight where they do research on new releases consurning topics like custommer care and DRM compatability with you the consumer. And reading up on them, they, like GOG is taking a stance against agressive DRM policies - for you who likes to read up on this sort of thing and maybe get a litle education on what your rights are as a consumer and what you should and shouldent put up with in games try taking a look at what the fellows over at RYG is saying, if you enjoy GOG, and their policy, then RYG is maybe only one step behind in the thinking process.

How exactly is giving "Tolerable" to one of the most restrictive DRM schemes in existence "reclaiming your game". You might like SC2, you may find your Battle.net experience smooth as silk. It's still one of the most restrictive DRM schemes available, you'll play SC2 how Blizzard wants you too. Oh, and you won't mod it with anything of which they don't approve.

I'm going to just laugh off the entire site right now, excuse me...

I have to agree with you, that site is a bit of a joke. They're called 'Reclaim Your Game' and they call a DRM system where the offline mode requires reactivation every 30 days 'tolerable'?

Reclaim Your Game is the gamer equivalent of a whacko conspiracy theorist.

The site was good before but they really lost sight of their goal. When I joined there before they were all anti-drm. Good idea for a site that wants to work for consumer rights with a specific focus on loosening up DRM.

When the site gets some attention what do the morons do? Partner with a DRM company to make an 'acceptable' DRM. After that the site slowly shifted from anti-drm to making drm 'acceptable'. Take anything they post now with a huge grain of salt OP.

How is having to reactivate after thirty days of not having an Internet connection intolerable, especially for a game where the lion's share of the game is actually online?

I'd say it's inexcusable for any game that has any single player content.

Reclaim Your Game used to be at least somewhat useful as they maintained a list of what kind of DRM numerous games used, but then they took down that list and at the same time transitioned to publishing what I can only describe as schizophrenic opinion pieces on how tolerable various forms of DRM are. Plus they introduced a "partnership" that DRM vendors can enter into which basically screams "sellout." At this point they're basically just a cross between raving lunatics and complete shills.

Reclaim Your Game is the gaming equivalent of PETA; filled with bigoted, self-righteous assholes who do nothing but harm to the industry they claim to represent.

I'm saying it has no negative affect on you, and thus doesn't matter. You're busting out arguments based on theory and philosophy which really don't apply to the situation at hand.

I admit it's a bit intrusive but I also don't get why people bitch over running a verification app for a few minutes every 30 days.
