My grandmother called this morning and said it was mother's day. At first I was concerned she was forgetful or something (she is 86) because mother's day is two months away. I just kind of stayed silent for a while on the phone until she continued speaking and the conversation ended soon after. While concerned about her, I open the web browser and logged on to facebook and see someone's posted happy women's day. Oh phew I thought. She just mixed up the two terms by accident (english is her third language in which she's pretty good at it regardless).

With that scare gone, happy women's day to all.

Awww, this is very sweet. :) Thank you gents (even the sandwich making label from Phoenix. I do actually make some rather tasty sandwiches ;) ). I should also call my aunt and wish her a happy day, as she's one of the most important ladies in my life along with my grandmother.

I hope the fine inhabitants of GOG don't take my post as anything other than a topical example of Wikipedia vandalism, something that I would never participate in myself.

It's an absolute outrage there isn't a White Middle-Class Conservative Couch Potato day.

It seems the Wikipedia mods are more interested in deleting things they don't find notable than actually cleaning up the stupid edits people make. :P Doesn't seem like much has changed even with a modding community there.

I couldn't figure out a non-trollish way to point out that in the US women have it a lot easier than the men do. And generally stoop to making up statistics to convince people that it's not the case. Pretty much the only areas they've left to conquer are falling even as similar standards are being set up to allow the same sort of sexist behavior in reverse..

Consequently a women's day in the US is in poor taste.
