How in the hell is it that there are still new ones being discovered? Is it a result of communication completely cut off from all other nations? Why in the hell did I have to be born in the shitty nation that only has 151 Pokemon? Am I the sole person to leave my home nation? Also, why is it that the Pokemon from all of the various nations that I have been to have baby forms & evolutions of Pokemon that occur from leveling that NEVER seem to be fucking discovered until I have moved on to the next nation? Were all of these Pokemon "Professors" just sitting with their thumbs up their asses while I was off doing the heavy lifting or something?

Yet they missed the single biggest opportunity IMO. Pokemon is the only thing that could have come close to pulling the same numbers WoW has, however for the most part it's never left their handheld and it feels too late to even try it now.

The nations of the pokemon world have been dealing with a pretty aggressive environment ever since, hence there have been very restrictive traveling and communication laws. Introducing a new species to an environment that is not prepared for it just seemed to be a risk nobody was willing to take. Having a lightning pokemon roam free in a water pokemon environment for example would have catastrophic consequences and could severely harm the pokemon population.

Well, obviously the Pokemon world is either an alien planet that's only marginally settled by humans, and the communication between various enclaves (think kinda Alpha Centauri) is spotty at best, or it's Earth but post-apocalypse and the same holds true.

The post-apocalypse Earth viewpoint has seen a massive die-off of large scale lifeforms and the genetic engineers are creating new species based upon a malleable genetic proto-goo willy nilly to try and give some diversity to the landscape. What they've failed to take into account is that all the species are the same thing, just cosmetically different since they can interbreed, so not really genetically diverse.

Either way, Poke-world is pretty screwed up.

I think all generations have their hits and misses, but my heart is with the first two generations. They were the ones I grew up with and became attached too. Part of the fun of the first two generations was actually being able to collect all 250 without cheating (with the exception of celebi) or being...dedicated.

After generation 3 I was like meh, and didn't bother trying. For some reason, the magic was just lost. Maybe I grew out of pokemon, maybe it was because the game was the same (although the pokemon contests was a nice touch), or maybe a combination of both.

I still play pokemon rom hacks now and then and I still have a soft spot for the series. But I'm not going to rush off and get a 3ds for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, I just can't find it in me to get attached to the new pokemon. Although, I like the looks of that fire starter pokemon, that would have been my starter
