Wow...just wow....My shooter of the year. The levels are well designed, the graphics are superb, the gameplay is tight, and the difficulty is just right, Granted the AI is sometimes borderline retarded, but the game is just well made. Your thoughts?
I loved Crysis 2 from start to end :)

I found it not too hard since cloaking made it easier. The graphics are top notch as you say

The A.I. was pretty good and could be a real pain sometimes, but still okay nonetheless

All in all, a good purchase
Same here. Enjoyed it alot.
Yeah, it really was only the AI that let it down. I have to admit that the rest was superb, despite the fact that I had reservations about it regarding the setting and the fact that it was being squeezed onto consoles.

That said, there was some pretty heavy deja vu throughout thanks to the setting. New York has been destroyed too many times now. Time for somewhere else to feel the pain.

Personally, I'd love to see Copenhagen get trashed in a game. Only chance of that happening is if IOI does it though. I can't see any other studio setting a game there. But since IOI was bought by Eidos, I think that slim chance has dwindled to zero.

Prague would be a good setting also. But then Prague has already been trashed in so many movies, it's hardly original anymore.

There are a lot of European cities that could work. Venice is already a bit overdone. But it offers some strategic options not really available elsewhere.

this thread is hilarious..

Crysis got huge amounts of hate for Crysis 2 for so many obvious reasons..i guess when it comes to game companies releasing quality these days they dont even try because we got the "yes" man community to ensure there future ^.. ill stick with the crysis 2 general oppinion and say it was a true sign of the company selling out just before it sold its soul to microsoft to release kinect games.

You mean the 'community' who were so busy moaning the game didn't require 3x580's in SLI that they didn't bother to find out it was an extrememly enjoyable game?
I enjoyed Crysis 2, but it really pissed me off with its idiotic story, even for a shooter. I was expecting much better from Richard Morgan.

that's two different arguments.

game can be enjoyable. can be also one of the greatest games ever made.

but still can be criticized for failing to meet certain expactation.

crysis 1 pushed the boundries of graphics. it was in that department ahead 3 years. It was also marketed that way.

something similar was expected of crysis 2. And it failed in that regards.
Sure. it is a great game with beautiful graphics but it ain't next gen graphics like crysis 1 was.

whining that the game does not require triple SLI or CF to run at max settings is a quite valid point no matter how good the game is.

Isn't that the point? Crysis 2 was never marketed as something that will burn your PC if you so even look at the DVD like Crysis was. Crysis was a brilliant game tech speaking but it had it's faults. With Crysis 2 they concentrated on the gameplay more than the graphics and it resulted IMO in a much better game. Sure Crysis 2 isn't an openworld sandbox like Crysis but being set in a city gave it a decent enough reason for that other than making it console friendly. The alternative options are still there just on a smaller scale because of the location. Not to mention for a single player FPS it's very long by todays standards.
Well IMO, Crysis 2 is a lovely FPS but not at all worthy of carrying the name Crysis... Crysis 1 was light years ahead from 2, gameplay speaking, graphics speaking, physics (!!!) speaking. To be honest i'm very dissapointed by almost every sequel lately (Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, Mafia 2). I really was starting to loose faith in sequels and saying i won't buy another sequel, they are laughing at our faces with their creations based to a very good game each time.

Well all that before Witcher 2 came out, although a bit dissapointed by some things missing from Witcher 1, i like it.

If the game was called Invasion: NYC is under threat: AGAIN!

then yes. that would matter.

but we expect from sequels to continue trend set by the first game.

15 years ago similar thing happened with Duke Nukem (a bit more extreme tough)
sure DN3d was awesome and amazing game. Yet all complaints about it not being 2d platformer were valid.

I believe the quality of game is completely irrelevant when it comes to meeting people's expactations in regards to the graphics quality of crysis 2.

Well I can't speak for other people but I loved Crysis and Crysis: Warhead and Crysis 2 more than met my expectations. It's one of the very few FPS games I have sat down and played from start to finish. I also enjoyed the story. I can't say it was anything new or innovative but sometimes I like a Hollywood blockbuster and that's really what Crysis 2 is.

I'm sorry to say this but if this was the case i'm not sure games would actually evolve at all.
