As a big time animal lover, I also wish you the best of luck. Don't give up hope, especially so early. Definitely get those posters up as others have suggested, as I know lots of people in the rurtal area where I live have recovered their beloved pets this way, sometimes after quite a bit of time has passed. Keep the faith, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.
Hope you manage to find them. Our old dog got out quite a few times, she was used to living on a farm so after we moved to the suburbs she took every chance she got to go exploring.

It's definitely good to get the word out, knock on a few doors and ask, leaving your contact info. That's how we found ours last time she got out. She was really old at that point and made it about half a kilometer before needing to nap on someones lawn, someone from their street that we spoke to recognised her and rang us up.

Sounds a lot like my Jack Russell, "Griffin" I had [sucummed to liver cancer a few years ago :'( ]. When I would finally track her down, I didn't know if I wanted to strangle her, or hug and kiss the crap outta her, that she didn't get killed by a car...as smart of a dog as she was, when she got a "scent" outside, she was totally oblivious to cars and traffic, and would take off like a shot if she was able to sneak out an open door. That's really a cute story about your pooch falling asleep on a neighbors yard :)

This is sad news, and I'm really sorry for you, Big_Boss.

But don't lose hope, dogs may have bad sight, but they have excellent sense of smell and hearing. I'm sure they will find the way back home. Maybe they're just having some fun for now, but they're old enough to track the way home.
Also, your brother must be feeling really bad right now...

My best wishes for you, I hope you and your family will see your dogs again really soon.
If they stayed close they will eventually show up. But put some posters and maybe someone can give you a heads up were they are.
Good luck on finding them!
Nothing for now.
Yesterday I spent all the day putting posters here and there, but any good news :(

Big_Boss: My brother accidentaly this night has left the gate opened (it's an electric gate and if you pass in front of it it reopen itself), and my two dogs ran way.
I spent the whole morning, from 6 a-m until now, searching for them, I already denunced the fact to authority, is there any hope they can find the road home alone?
They are intelligent and smart, and I really love them, I took them from a doghouse on January 23, 2012 and they are two puppies :(
I'm really sad

orcishgamer: Keep checking the local animal shelter (wherever your local animal control would take them, or a good samaritan). Post an ad on your local classified section of a newspaper, post an ad on any online version of such (maybe a craigslist variant if you have one).

Dogs get hungry, they will seek a human's comfort at some point, that human merely needs to know to contact you.

I don't want to be an ass, but they do have dog tags on their collar, right? Chipping dogs is also cheap these days and any vet will read it and locate you. If you love your dogs, you might not want to skimp on such cheap measures. If you have already done these things, they will turn up. I suspect your area is not filled with sociopaths.

The only other worry is theft, if they're "pound puppies" you have nothing to worry about on this front. If you have some special breed, then you need to be watching for people selling or "re-homing" dogs of that breed.
Well, back home, we have a real problem with a pack of feral dogs that created the strangest "wolf" pack ever.

But yes, chances are good that they'll show up and hopefully they've been chipped.

Thanks for the update, I wanted to ask if there had been any news but I didn't want to upset you by bumping the thread.

Keep your chin up, mate, and don't lose faith.

Thats somewhat re-leaving, there is a pretty strong trade on pure bred stolen to order, A friend of mine works for the SSPCA and from talking to him the thief's try to make it look like they run away.
I was just wondering if these dogs were found and here thread is at the top of forum. GOG must have turned the mind probe rays on today. Hope they make it home.
Its definitely hard when you lose track of your pups. I have 2 golden retrievers so I know. One of them is smart and loves staying with us and even if she was outside-she wouldnt leave. The other dog is crazy, adventurous, loves exploring and stupid. Whenever I hear that one of our dogs is gone, I always hope its not the latter.

I hope you find your pups.
have you tried calling a nearby animal shelter (i don't know how you say it in english, we call it "dierenasiel" in dutch)

dogs are normally not allowed to run free and police might have found and captured them and taken to one of those to be placed for adoption

i'm not saying this is certain, it is far from one

but there is a very small chance they have been found and placed in one

If the police have found them they would go to a shelter and checked for micro chips, I believe that is a standard procedure in most of Europe
