morciu: where did you get them? Is it a chain store or something so I know where to look?
Auchan's bargain bin.

... and thus myriads of NOLF-deprived PC gamers started their pilgrimage to Romania ... ;)

StingingVelvet: FYI pretty much every game does. Not sure why it has this rep that makes people constantly ask.

Ric1987: Not really a lot of older games don't work well, at least not without jumping through hoops.
Define "a lot." It has run everything I have thrown at it without much trouble except for some old LucasArts games like Shadows of the Empire.
Just to confirm, it runs fine on Win 7, I was too lazy to actually try myself (welll, the game was in the freakin' attic for a few years), so I just relied on a google search (nolf on win 7), which gave the impression it didnt work very well (or at all).

So, yeah, it does work, thanks for prompting me to get off my arse and actually try it for real :)
You're not going to keep it in its original packaging like a comic book collector, are you? That game deserves to be played.

P.S. My retail copy works in Win7 x64

My head just exploded from the philosophical implications of that question ;)
Works fine under Win7 as well here. Have had my copy for over a decade now, I believe.

I've heard about that infamous game. I feel like I should try it.

So that's probably why so many GOG releases are accompanied by comments from grateful users who were unable to run their retail (or pirated) copies on Win 7, Vista or even XP (not to mention that even some GOG releases tend to cause trouble on Win7 such as Evolva, KKND or Dark Reign).

Is that supposed to prove something? The general computer person is completely illiterate on things as simple as a driver update.
NOLF & NOLF2 are two of the best and funniest games I've ever played. A real joy!

It's wrong to compare people who must have been gamers in the late 90's or early 2000's to the average computer user. And it's just a supporting argument for what many really experienced gamers claim - I for one have had to look for workarounds to get a game running on a newer OS pretty much since I switched to XP for the first time and it hasn't gotten any easier since Vista or Win7. Just check how many threads there are on the web from people asking how to get one of their old favourites to run on a newer OS.

Just yesterday I googled for help because I couldn't get Wargasm to run properly in Win7 and all I found were threads from ten years ago by people who had trouble to play it on XP - and while looking for this I stumbled upon similar topics concerning lots of other titles.

Edit: Although, not completely true, eventually I found one thread about running Wargasm on Win7 which did not provide any solution.

All I can do is speak to my experience, which has been Win7 running everything XP and Vista did before it with very few exceptions. It's not a cardinal rule, of course. I just dislike how people consistently ask "does it run on Win7?" about every game that came out more than a couple years ago, as if the OS has special problems running old games. It doesn't, in my experience.

In any case, no big deal.
