First thing's first...yes, the topic is a Porky Pig reference.

Ok, so long story short, I haven't posted on here in a few days, but during that time I've been thinking I need a new hat. I had radiation therapy last year to burn out my thyroid due to thyroid disease, and since then my eyes have become much more sensitive to bright light. I've got baseball style caps, but they tend to mat my hair down & get it all sweaty. I need functionality, dammit! Something that will keep the sun out of my eyes, but keep my hair looking nice...and look good on me, too. That's pretty important to me.

So I've attached my picture (me & my oldest daughter) here, hoping for some suggestions. I'm all about humor in my life, but it would honestly be TOO easy to post wacky suggestions (such as: stovepipe, cat-in-the-hat, giant foam cowboy hat, etc, etc) so PLEASE try to keep it serious here.

Thank you for input.

Here's a couple of suggestions:

The Hat

Got Root
Oh Christ, I thought this was going to be a TF2 thread.

Are you stalking me on another board? I actually did mention on another site that I was considering the Indiana Jones hat because seriously, who doesn't love Indy?

GameRager: 100 bucks for a hat? lolololol.
Its officially licensed, but regardless its also much cheaper on other sites.

No stalking :D. I just figured that it might be something you like and it might sit well on you going by the photo plus it's not another baseball cap. Hell, I would get it myself :D
Try a classic straw porkpie (which I personally rock in the summer) or a swanky panama.
What about a jockey cap? Back when I was in the army, the bill can really shield your eyes from something awful.

Also, have you considered getting shades, or spectacles with photochromic lenses?

If I were to go with something like the porkpie, I'd rather go with the gambler. I always thought it looked good on Chris DeGarmo, Richie Sambora, and SRV.

Same with the panama. If I were to go with something of that style, I'd want to go with the Indiana Jones fedora. :-)

I've got magnetic snap-on sunglasses that fit over my regular glasses...just isn't enough, that's why I need the hat. But the jockey hat does look like it has potential, so I'll add it to my list of hats to try on next time I'm out...

Gambler
Indy fedora
Jockey

On my way to work I sometimes come across a strange old guy wearing an Indiana Jones hat and along dark brow leather coat. It looks strange on an accountant looking guy with glasses in a country with in general cold, wet and windy weather.
Although I do salute him for being brave enough to go outside dressed like that.

i had this one till i went to Leeds (theres a story there but its painfill, suffice to say i dont wear the hat anymore)
