...and I can't get into any of them.

Hello all, I have a bunch of games to play, and I try to play and enjoy them, but end up failing and looking for something more fun :( I have, and would like to enjoy, these games that I think are relatively good:
Morrowind
Oblivion
Skyrim
StarTopia
Divine Divinity
Beyond Divinity
Beyond Good and Evil
Dungeon Keeper Gold
Hostile Waters
System Shock 2
Arcanum
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Alpha Centauri
Torchlight 1+2
Quake 1-3
All Unreals, except 2003
Doom 1+2
FTL: Faster Than Light
Super Meat Boy
Sins of a Solar Empire
SimCity 4
Thief 1+2
Portal 2
GalCiv 2
Freespace
Omikron
Wing Commander: Privateer(I think I know the answer: no joystick :P)

So, I really try to get into all of these games(Morrowind especially), but I can't and I really want to. Does anybody have any tips on how to enjoy these games? I don't want to waste my money :D

What's stopping you from enjoying Freespace?
Dungeon Keeper Gold
You basically just have to go in with the "Muahahah me bad guy" mentality. Take a little bit of time before hand and imagine, if you were an evil villain what would your goals be? What would your flag look like? Your uniforms? What kinds of creatures would you make deals with? Make up a quick story involving the heroes who oppose you, what did they do to you to make you want to so totally and utterly devastate their lands? Dungeon Keeper was always one that I felt really benefited from going in with a specific image in your mind that you were using the game to then convey.

FTL: Faster Than Light
Have you beaten it once yet? Because there's the sticky point where it's hard to get into if that hasn't happened yet. Once it does, it's a lot easier to stay with it. Anyways, play it on the easiest setting if you haven't beaten it yet. Have a goal in mind, whether that's time to stay alive, trying to keep specific crew members alive for the whole run, winning a run, or unlocking a specific ship. Just have something to aim for and take it a sector at a time. Take your time in the early sectors, dink around as much as possible in the first two to pick up the extra scrap you will need.
Maybe Morrowind could do with a nice graphical update to help draw you in?
Just play one game at a time:)
FTL
Well, for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, my advice would be to treat it like your character is a mute serial murderer with absolutely no social skills, willing and able to butcher everything within a 50 mile radius to steal their things. Went through New Vegas that way, and it was pretty sweet. No crappy inventory management, no mass selling junk to stores for pocket change. Not once was it necessary. Got to the final expansion, had everything maxed out just like I would have if I'd played it the "right" way.
maybe you're starting all of them at the same time, start just one and leave the rest for later.

thats what i intended for my most recent playthrough - didnt happen. got suckered into thinking "oh... but this quest!" dammit! heheh!
Its called building a collection. And a backlog :D
Maybe you're "gamed-out" and just need a break for a few days, week, month.

You have to resist the urge. Believe me, there were a few times when the Gun Runners were calling my name. Wanted to kill that robot and take the gun supply with an unholy passion. But then the developers provided in the form of dumbass natives who somehow have a military arsenal at their beck and call. A few dozen murders took the edge off and geared me up at the same time. Also, pretty hilarious to have it start with "GO HERE DO THIS!" and once you start detonating the locals the game throws up its hands as if to say, "Well, you've screwed the pooch so royally it'll need therapy for the rest of its natural life, so you just need to stop wasting everyone's time and go back to the main game area, psycho".

Heheh! I think thats what happened in goodsprings for me - but also after wearing NCR armour (an hour or two later) so i didnt get sniped for a bit, suddenly everyone loved me (because i forgot to take it off duh!). So im just playing the two dlc i didnt do before, then a restart!
Perhaps you just don't enjoy gaming subconsciously. Have you tried another hobby?
Because something is wrong, if you can't get into Arcanum, FTL, Portal 2 or the Fallout games.
