...because it appears to be probably the least active day on GOG (on Saturday and even Sunday I am usually still a bit excited about the weekend promo). Normally no new releases or no new promos, right? (or then I just don't remember) The same promo is still ongoing that started on Friday. Yeah yeah, been there bought them, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.

What is one supposed to do on Mondays? I got so bored that I even played some of my recent GOG purchases a bit last evening, e.g. Interstate '76 and '82.

How dare you play the games that you've purchased!

If you haven't already, play Path of Exile. It'll cost you a measly US$10 for a Beta key (it's more than worth it)
Yeah, they should do something about it. Mondays sucks, everybody knows that, but they could do something about it, to lighten them up a bit.

But you know, you need to give a Pollack a few days to get sober after weekend, so maybe it's the case :D
I like this monday. I can stay at home and spend my time on whatever I like- (Apart from being with friends who are at work or have to study)
I even played a level in descent AND hung up my newly washed clothes. And I have taken my time to make coffee. How fortunate I am.
If only I didn't have homework to do....

I know I shouldn't have. I'82 feels far too arcade-y to me (can't I even switch to indoors view? Consolitis!), and even I'72 felt cruder than I remember it being, but still, pretty ok overall. At least I got my gamepad working pretty ok with both games (the analog controls need a bit of trimming, now it is too tight), and so far I haven't seen severe bugs in either. Not sure if I have the "wobbly tires" bug in I'72 though, I have to play it a bit more.

That's the spirit!

I played I'76 last century and I've never seen/heard of the wobbly tires bug. At least it seems like a bug that's fitting for the "funkiness" of the game.

I also have a question that just occurred to me. Have you ever visited Hungary or had exposure to a group of Hungarians? I ask because the 3 months or so that I lived in Finland was quite strange as I often thought I heard Hungarian being spoken in the background, but was obviously Finnish when I paid attention to it. Have you experienced the reverse of this?

I keep reading this is somehow related to the game running in too high a framerate on new PCs. I've vsync-locked my system to 60 fps which is supposed to help, but still I see that when the black guy is driving in his own car, he seems to have a bit bumpy drive, as if he is hitting stones on the road every now and then. I presume that is the "wobbly tires" bug. But so far, that hasn't affected the actual gameplay.

I might try to run it also on my older/slower WinXP machine, but I presume it is also far too fast for the game. And as said, so far the bug(?) hasn't been game-breaking. I have finished the basegame a long time ago, but still to play the Nitro pack. I figured I'd replay the base game first, and then the expansion.

Sorry, no. The closest I've been to Hungary was either Germany or south France, whichever is closer. But I've certainly read that the two languages might be somehow related... but maybe it was only that both languages are just so obscure in Europe that they both stand out.

Which is more than fine by me, I like it that I can tell people abroad what shitheads they are at their face or comment on their appearance, and they have no idea what I'm saying. It is like my own code language, I'd hate to know only some widely known language like English.

Finnish is part of the Finno-Ugric language group (Same as Estonian). As I don't speak any such language, but a girl I knew from Estonia said that those languages are very similar.

I prefer it when shitheads know exactly what I think of them. In this case, I'm glad I know English. But it is difficult to learn other languages if your mother tongue is English because everybody speaks English and will default to that language rather than continue a stuttering conversation.

Yeah, I thought they would be similar too until I started using my Finnish phrasebook. Seriously, it may as well have been Chinese. Although a Finnish friend of mine went to study in Estonia and she learned it very quickly. But maybe that's an exception to the rule because she is amazing at learning languages. Sometimes I forget she is Finnish when speaking English because she sounds like an American...

Sounds like somebody has a case of the muuhndays.

Well, as said Finnish and Estonian languages are quite close to each others, which might not be the case between Hungarian and the aforementioned languages (but I am unsure). Still different though; when I hear someone speaking Estonian, 80-90% of it is total gibberish to me, I just get a word here and there. To my understanding some words have even changed their meaning somewhat between the two languages. But, I presume I'd learn it quickly if I tried, probably mainly learning the vocabulary.

But still, Mondays... Maybe I should play Postal.

Mondays... Mondays means work. Great work! Glorious work! I'm incredibly happy that I have a job to go to every weekday, where I meet my workmates and have stuff to do, assigned tasks that need to be done rather than the multitude of my own projects that I most of the time just can't be bothered with because they have no deadline and I have no one other than myself to push me on.

Work :-D
