Weclock: I just got blade runner for PC - anyone have any tips for playing it on a modern computer?
avatar
cioran: It ran fine on one of my PCs 2-3 years ago. Can't remember if I was running a ME/win2k dual boot or XP though on that build. Haven't played it in a while. Great game.
You might have to limit CPU cycles, though.
ME used to run stuff great. Vista also does surprisingly well. XP not so much, esp SP2.
runs pretty well on win7, but I want to get to one of those cpu parts..

The CPU limiting business is a software program. I think a fellow above me mentioned the name of one that's popular now. I haven't had any occasion to use one in 2 or 3 years.

yeah, but I haven't reached the part in the game where it's needed, infact I barely got past the intro cinematic which I will have to re-watch because my sound was too low.
just bought a hardcover copy of a couple of Phil's books in one big one.
the man in the high castle, the three stigmata of palmer eldritch, do androids dream of electric sheep, and ubik.

ah. ubik was great. quite funny in a way. there was even a game about it... had it although never played it.
Haven't read his books in a while... need to change that.;
I never got this game to run on my Vista, so I'm not so sure it will run on my W7...

DarthKaal: Yep, one simple tip: you don't need to actually take a photo of you and your mobile to show that you have a game. You could have also reversed your picture to have the title of the game written correctly.

Hey, be thankful he wasn't nekkid in the pic!

because of you I will need to play that game again :) Thanks :)
Also did you try shooting range as I recommended? Its the only way to check if games is running fine before reaching first place when this actually matter.
Also good books you've get there :) All of them are awsome - start with "Do androids dreams...." ;-)

I have a good tip. Just play it! :)).
At any rate, I was going to offer the tip about slowing down your CPU, but since people already offered that tip, I will just nod in silent agreement. :)

Tried installing it again, and got a message that it's incompatible with 64-bit, and it refuses to install. I'll probably just run it on the XP nearby, then.

I am enjoying the book rather well, and feel shocked at how good it is in comparison to the movie, the movie is like a doodle on deviant art, while the book is like the Mona Lisa.
I rewatched the movie recently and am still reading the book, and it is soo amazingly deep and the questions it raises are great.
I still haven't played the game, I don't know if I can once I read the book.
