Yes, it's true. I cheated. I bought a physical game from a physical store.
But, at least I was punished for it: The box (Rocksmith) didn't come with an activation code. Apparently Ubisoft forgot to include it (or maybe it's just the next step of DRM, sending in receipts to the support so they can verify it).

Never again. I promise to be faithful to you forever-after, GOG. If you will have me back.

You might be right, that is there next supersecret DRM, do not include any of the codes...Then you MUST send in all proof of purchases with at least a signature from the manager of the store, a witness (that you bought the game), your signature, a photo copied ID, birth certificate showing you are of the proper age, finger prints and DNA profile to make sure you are actually the buyer, $10.00 handling fee, and then if that "ALL" checks out. They will then send you a proper activation code by certified carrier ($29.99 fee associated) which will require your signature. That carrier will then watch you activate the game on ONE and only ONE computer after which said activation is no longer viable and you must go through procedure all over again should you need to reformat your computer...

I am sure Ubisoft would do the above if they could.

Shit happens. What I don't understand though, is people tend to make claims to the publisher, instead of just going to the seller / vendor and return the faulty product... Or swap it for non-faulty...

It's your right as a consumer, you know? You don't need to knock at producers/publishers door every time something is not right...

Some people I know spent so much time playing Guitar Hero that the equivalent hours put into actual guitar would have made them outstanding players. If only...

I saw an article about this a couple of days ago. I feel for you, bro.

When you do get up and running with Rocksmith, you'll love it. Like you, I'm a veteran guitar player and I'm addicted to Rocksmith. It's highly, highly entertaining. There is a minimal amount of latency but it isn't enough to disrupt your groove. The soundtrack is really great, as well. There is a nice variety of songs to play through and all of the songs are really fun to play.

Moreover, you can play bass too! :D
