It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

freezer08: I just tried posting a new topic in another forum and it did not work (Firefox 20). Testing to see if this reply works...

Um, okay then. I guess I'll try my new topic again.

Ok, I still cannot post a new topic. Hmmm.

Just tried IE and that does not work either. Very frustrating.
Does your topic contain links? They have a "don't let anyone with rep below 7 or something post links or make threads with links and don't tell 'em about it" anti-spam system.

That was it -- I had included a link. Removed that and it works. Thanks!
This links thing is annoying, but I can see why they did it.
Now I can't post. Using Opera. This is a test ...

Hmmm ... it worked. So why can't I reply to someone on another thread ?

I think you need a minimum amount of rep (10?) before being able to make topics.
Defense against spam, or something.

Usual problem is if the post you want to make in the new thread contains links. While you have been here for some time, you haven't really participated in the forums, and a low rep prevents you from posting links. Either remove the links (removing the http part seems to suffice) or post a bit more in the forums, and try again in a week or so.
This is due to an anti-spam measure GOG installed a while ago, after a flood of spambots.

oh ok, thanks. I figured that must have been it when replying in a topic.
While this thread is active....

On my laptop i am unable to post as I cant see the 'post message' button. Resizing the window does nothing and there is no scroll bar at the side of the window. (Win 7) on FF

Try to reduce the font size, or zoom out. Alternatively, use Barefoot Monkey's script that adds the possibility of quickpost.
Also, check that you are using either https://secure.gog.com or http://www.gog.com and not https://www.gog.com

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try the font thing later
Testin quick reply
test...
Edit: Wow, are you serious? You need 10 rep to be able to post a 'help' thread? Because of something that GOG did doesn't work? GG

Hm, I was wondering what post I had made recently that got a reply.
As for your posting trouble, either skip the urls entirely, remove the http part (so the link becomes www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ for example), or post a bit more in the forums to reach the magic number (I think it was 7, may have been increased to 10).

Also, clicking reply sends a notification, while clicking new post (and/or quoting) doesn't produce one.
