darthspudius: Good job brother, onto Fallout 2. Remember to patch it up before you go into. Get all the missing content etc put back into the game. :)
Post me a link with the Patches, I played Fallout 1 unpatched.

Along with bringing back the Children and HD mods.

the 2nd restoration patch is just about bug fixing that he missed in the first one.

Yeah - he spanks them until he breaks his hand , and then says "Look how red is ass is !" :))
Congratulations friend, I completed the 1st game with melee the first time. Seeing as I didn't get to experience it with ranged weapons, Im starting up again for this play through.

The only real, well not really big problem is that there are no REAL games like fallout. Eschalon and The Quest are both solo rpgs, thats true, but we need more fallout rpgs with guns. I tried arcanum but while guns were good, I want to play a solo game where guns are powerful, not a game where magic vs guns ends with magic killing any creature with 1 shot (Force tree last spell). I completed Arcanum once with a sword user, but it just would have been better if ranged combat was usable.

Oh well, I still haven't beaten fallout 2 after this play through.

I am thinking of melee in Fallout 2 because sadly I only start with melee weapons in the beginning of the game.

Not for long. It's a non-issue. You don't need any self-imposed limits to discourage or slow you down even further.

If anything he's an inspiration for me to start completing some of the games I own on gog ;)

melee is quite fun, i have especially enjoyed kicking NPCs in head to knock them out or legs to break them and reduce their action points, especialy useful against strong melee monsters

however you can still play the game without putting any extra points into strength or unarmed/melee weapon combat at all, I've done that many times, the start of the game is a bit tougher, but you can easily get your first gun in Klamath and after that your melee skills dont matter anymore, there are some optional unarmed fight involving quests later in game, but even those can be done with basic skill values, just some saving/loading would be required :)

Elmofongo: Well off to Fallout 2, is it better than 1, how different is it in terms of gameplay and content?
I've first beaten F2 and F1 brought me two dissapointments: had the same music and was shorter.

Apart from that those games are similar. If you love F1 you will love F2..

Elmofongo: But my biggest grips is how its executed, perhaps its the time the game was release or mabye I am used to cutscenes with cinamatic voice acting and angles etc., I just don't feel as immeresed in the story compared to other story driven games with more cinematic flavor like Dragon Age: Origins.
I am sincerely disappointed and even disgusted by you :-(

Elmofongo: I hope the final boss is not hard, I mainly focused on small guns and the Final Boss in Fallout 1 took awhile to kill even with the Sniper Rifle the strongest small gun in the game.
Eh, to be honest with you, The Master wasn't that bad compared to Fallout 2's final boss. You could at least reason with the Master if you did your research and defeat him without fighting, which you can't do in Fallout 2. On top of that, the final boss in FO 2 is such a monster (in terms of both stats and lore) that you pretty much need to use trickery to take him down. DON'T try to make this a fair fight. You'll lose.

not entirely true, i spec'd for small guns and melee, Gauss rifle and supersledge FTW

there are perks that you can pick to always get criticals added with better criticals and perks to reduce the AP cost of moves.

that and a tonne of stims.
