And publishers think EVERYONE is a thieving pirate including their paying customers (DRM). Thank you GOG for existing, and a round of applause to all of you visitors! :)
PS please add PAYPAL soon. I'd like to get in on that snazzy B1G1F dealio. :)

seriously
after i had been using the gog forums for a week or so i decided that the internet's reputation for harboring douchebaggery was entirely unfounded
so i decided to check out the gamespot forums and a couple of others
huge mistake
i have never seen so much concentrated STUPID on one website
i don't know what it is about gog, but im sticking with it
I love all of you!

You obviously haven't read the comments for the climactic post on the antispore blog. Those really make me despair for the future of humanity. On the other hand, the blog itself gives me hope. There are still intelligent and witty people out there.
Oh, and if you haven't read the blog itself, do so first. It's not that long, and it'll mess with your head something wonderful.
This forum is like a damned bunny burrow.

This place is one of the very few gaming forums... scratch that, it's really the only one I'm around in, aside from niche or community-of-friends forums.
Quite rare that for the most part, everyone gets along here without it falling into the pit of depravity that is the rest of most of gaming culture.

+1
I think the retro community is the perfect place for a hangout. We're all too jaded to get too fanboyish about anything, we still love games enough that we're willing to pay for them a second time 10 years later, and for the most part we're old enough to know how to behave on the internets.
I never participated much, but I also really enjoyed reading through threads on other retro hangouts like HOTU.
Edit: Did I mention that, also, everyone here is just awesome? If not, then you are all awesome.

I love this forum because there aren't that many people to oversaturate and fill the place with douchebags, but there are just enough people that we know most of the regulars, what they do, why they're here, etc. And I like virtually socializing with people I may never meet in real life. Unless someone is going to go to Hong Kong or something.
Like I said on Twitter a while back, this place is a bit like the eBay message boards before IPO. So I also have a warning: enjoy it while you still can, because this place won't always be like this.
Jeebus, talk about the mother of all self-masturbatory threads.

This would be the father... the mother died when GOG was born.
