Yes, this is shameless marketing gimmicky stuff from a series that has been butchered over and over again in the name of numerous cash grabs.

Oddly, though, they seem to have done a pretty good job on this (I couldn't find a video, but the XBox 360 actually makes R2D2 sounds when you hit the buttons).

So I don't know, am I sad, disgusted, impressed, envious? Uhg!

That some weird looking x-box. Golden controller is a bit gayish.. but if I had the money, why not. At least I could play red dead redemption with r2d2 noises.

Lucas sold the Star Wars script to Fox with the caveat that he be the sole owner of all merchandising rights. He didn't do that to keep Fox from "cashing in" on the movie with toys and comics, in some noble attempt a preserving the sanctity of the film or some such nonsense. He did it to cash in on it himself, without having to share the profits with anyone.

that is disgusting, so whats next ? when the witcher 2 releases on xbox, are they going make it sound like Triss Merigold and make a red xbox oh wait :O.....

Nothing appalling about it, it's just good marketing.
Pretty cool IMO, but not so cool that I'd buy a second 360.
