This is an important distinction. There have been no jokes about the state of someone being violated, there haven't even been any mean spirited posts about anything.

This is a thread about a willfully stupid person, or quite possibly a mentally unbalanced one. I've skimmed through her blog, and I'm coming to the conclusion that it's the latter. It makes this discussion less fun for me, because while one is worth mocking and having a good time over, the other is just sad.

So I'm going to scroll through a few pages of LOLcats until the bad taste goes away.

So would it not be better if rape were seen as something trivial? If it's going to stay with you forever and is going to be brought up over and over again wouldn't it be better if it were just considered a nuisance and not the grave crime it is now? That's just my opinion. i may be wrong but i can't help but think that if rape was something trivial everyone would be better off, victims and rapists(not that this matters and i feel a little bad for saying it).

I'm not saying you need to. I just felt compelled to point out that they are bad. You can do bad things as there is no universal rule that you need act good at all matters, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew that it isn't necessarily the most neutral subject to joke about.

I still think that the way the word "rape" is used as a base for jokes nowadays is really inconsiderate. For example, what used to be "spawn killing" seems to nowadays be "spawn rape" or "base rape". Neither of those is funny or relevant in any way I can conceive, and only work as both a juvenile group bonding joke for some and a deterrent for those outside that group.

So I'm a rape supporter because I know women have sexual needs. Okay!

The world is full of people made fragile by life in one area or another. You either come to laugh or cry at the misfortunes it deals. The worst thing is when a joke fails to be funny because all you have a chance to do then is cry.


People keep giving that article attention but I'm not sure if we should be. The person who wrote it somewhere down the line became very bitter and angry and nothing anyone can say will change that for her. It's probably for the best the comments aren't open.

The article actually said "A man is a rape-supporter if...", so it doesn't say anything about women. If you made a similar list for women, though, then pretty much everyone ever would be a rape-supporter. Suggesting that women, too, can be sexist/something usually doesn't end well, however.

Does "man" imply "gender" or "human"? It is not made clear. According to bible (or maybe other sources if you search some), women and men both are a type of "man". :-)

Actually she just refers to men, not women. And when asked if the list would fit women also she deflects... a lot. I feel sorry for her. She needs professional help and some heavy medication.

I love how there are posts starting with or containing "I found this list eye-opening". Unless that's ironic statement, her post is not eye-opening. More "I can't believe it's not a troll trying to go for shock reaction" bullshit. Most of her points are... so generic and unreasonable that I can only say "Wow, people actually believes in 90% of this? Rapture better come soon..."

Her replies to comments are even better:

but this one is the best:

No link to study papers that point out that's exactly the case? No? There is study about watching porn and brain area activity but it does not state that the area is responsible for "tool using" but reward... And yeah, whatever, I am not neuroscientist and base it off comments/almost zero research... Wow nevertheless...
