I'm in, I really had to struggle with myself over this. I wept bloody tears over Demon Souls and I expect to do so again.

I like action RPGs because it takes a bit of skill to win at them with the controls instead of just memorizing and creating a certain build that will beat the roll of the dice.

The game is really good, difficult, nice atmosphere. I didn't play so long because I've many games to play but I enjoyed the game !
I guess Action RPG's are nice. Action games are good, but can be boring because of "too much action kill action pleasure", but RPG elements can give a better feeling in the game.

As for action-RPGs, I love them from the moment I played 1st Diablo long time ago, the thing I don't like is when the game is being promoted as a action-RPG and then the "action" part is very poor.

And regarding ARPGs, I know many people have different definitions for what are considered ARPgs, but to me I only use that term for Diablo and similar games (Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest, Torchlight and others) and I like these type of games too

First action rpg that I played almost religiously was Diablo 2 (hundreds of hours spent on both single and multyplayer). Nowadays I still like to play ARPG every once in a while but I'm focusing more on games that have stronger plot, writing and interesting lore (sadly, most games from that genre a bit lacking in that department, although, of course there're exceptions).

Hm, Dark Souls. Always intrigued by it, so let's make an entry.

As for Action RPGs, the tag by itself doesn't make me want to play or avoid a game. A recommendation by a friend carries more weight, and then the rest of the game must be able to captivate me and hold my attention.

Used to love a lot of ARPGs from the SNES era, like Secret of Mana, Evermore, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. Good times..
Then I started playing some of the PC RPGs, like DIablo and a few clones.
The PS2 had a couple of fun ones too (like Dark Cloud).
