I admit nothing but armor +1 is always good.

Ubivis: Best loot = Superhero League of Hoboken :)

carlosjuero: I still have that game on 3.5" disk around here somewhere. I loved it.

Too bad that no computer I have owned in the past 6 years or so has had a floppy drive.
I think you can buy an external floppy drive. If that fails, then find another way to get the game since you already own the original disk.

Lack of a job means no discretionary funds to purchase an external drive :/ [or anything else not necessary to live].

Haven't seen it on any abandonware sites, but I haven't looked too hard either [considering how "gray" those sites are in legality]
I wouldn't say I'd go to extreme lengths to find 1% drop rate type of things but will I will do in games where the engine permits is pile all my phat lewt in a room -- Ultima 7 being a good example. You can stack all of your gold bricks and gems and piles of coins!

godspeeed: loot whore / achivement whore / completionist

yeah its really bad I miss playing sandbox Interstate 76 on lan and other such things, victim of the new gaming industry.

-Torchlight (my best 20$ investment ever)
-Diablo II (cant go wrong)
-Dungeon siege series
-Mythos (europeean free MMO based around loot, initially designed by the Torchlight team and SICK crafting system, the best out there)
-Morrowind (Daedric sets is so much fun)

HERETIC!!!

SillyHollow: Aaahhh I forgot being a completionist too.... Anyone ever played a Suikoden game?? I had a notebook with me all the time playing that game (Suikoden 1 for the PS1 on the PSP) so that I could wright down where every character was and what I had to do to get them to join me!
I spent 200 hours on suikoden 2.. on a single game and I have finished it multiple times with different character setups.

I'm still wishing Suikoden 2 comes out on the PSN store. Only played part one and that game rocked so much. Finding that new rune or recruiting that new character which is a couple of levels higher then your party, an ugly but perfect game! Going to start with part 2 soon. :-)

the best loot rpg is neverwinter nights series, diablo2, morrowing, oblivion, arcanum, homm3( its turn based strategy, but its treasures are more than welcome anytime :) )
sacred and titan quest would be in the middle.. :)

Sadly, rpg with worst loot system would be definately:
witcher and witcher 2
mass effect and mass effect 2
torchlight
witcher and witcher2 should give you some loot, but its almost identical to mass effect games where loot is not existant, and boring, not worth anything...
Come on! No one to cite Two Worlds, here?? The two main interested of the game are wandering in the open world and looting and looting and looting! ^_^
Fuck yeah, I'm a loot whore. I looted the absolute hell out of Morrowind. The ground near the creeper and mudcrab merchants was covered in loot, and that's before you take into account the fact that each instance of an item on the floor actually represented dozens of that item.

As for Fallout 3 I was lucky the game didn't break after shoving a certain number of items into one storage place as my locker was kind of full, to put it mildly.

In Stalker I predictably got the greedy ending if I went to the monolith (instead of the more virtuous alternative).
Looting is sinful....you must repent!!!!
Do so now, by handing over everything you got...to me....for safe keeping ;P

EDIT: as for the best... man, I'd have to go with Morrowind, the world is just so huge, the game is just soo fun, there is just so many things to have donated to me....for safe keeping you see...It gets my vote...though technically games like Diablo and Torchlight and Titan's Quest and Sacred have a bunch more loot...They don't immerse me into the game world so much and thus my lust for the loot is not as high
*Wipes drool from face
sorry.

Best RPG for loot.... Hard call, but I think Titan Quest gets it, because the loot made sense.. and if you were going to get that uber awesome unique bow from a Satyre, you had to deal with that bastard USING that bow on you, first.

Diablo though was the game that got me hooked... lately I haven't found another good one.. and I need my fix man.. I need my fix!

Though actually one other one that's a lot of fun in the loot side of things, especialy because of how the loot works.. is Dark Spore.

SillyHollow: Edit: World of Warcraft is doing one hell of a job too to feed my Loot Whore'ism.
Between farming rep and rare mounts, I don't think any game does it "better".
Does this mean you're a huge fan of Diablo II?
