amok: hmm, which game do they sell which only gives steam keys? every game I got there they have always a drm free download + and steam keys if you want.

however, this is the only time the games have not appeared in account, with every other bundle I also get the games in my humble account.

SirPrimalform: These are the ones I was aware of but there may be more:

ah, I see. Cheers. I don't have either game there. I am starting to have a bit of a list, and those I do have are all the same. It is interesting that these games don't get there then.

Wishbone: I'm afraid I fail to understand the problem? All the games are from THQ. What do you think is wrong?
Hehehe :D

I'd think "charity" and "THQ" would be one and the same.

Do you guys remember for this ?

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/thq_bundle_everywhere/post54

So for THQ a humble bundle is worth more than a DRM free GOG catalogue . :(

wizisi2k: who knows-I might do a giveaway (or trade for a GOG) the Saints Row key I got (BTA @ $5.21) after the bundle is done PROVIDED no extra games I want are in that key. BTW it's raise $130k since going live
Lol, the Saints Row flood has begun.

jgresham: Yes, but they still provided a DRM option, and required extra money for it - they didnt simply throw it in, it required a $1 donation. My point was merely that Humble bundle clearly didn't have an ideological issue with working with and providing games on Steam, so it is not a huge departure.
avatar
Wishbone: If you don't think that "Steam-exclusive" is a huge departure from "DRM-free, redeemable on Steam", then I don't think there is any point in discussing this further.
Quick question - how many of the games available in the earlier bundles were not already available elsewhere as DRM free, and how many of the games in the new bundle are? If THQ doesn't produce DRM free versions anywhere, I hardly see them doing it solely for HB. This could therefore be framed as a technical limitation from Humble bundles point of view, just like not being able to offer all their games on certain platforms.

Am I in favour of them all being completely DRM free? Of course. Do I think it is a step away from their usual deals? Yes of course it is - and no doubt the major publisher swung a big bat there. But the Humble bundle was clearly up for working with Steam as a distributor before this deal came through.

Whole reason I was excited about this was assuming these would be DRM free. Since they are not I have very little interest and own most of them already anyway.

Also I don't want to vote for more DRM'd bundles.

Shame.

Fesin: Well, if they aren't yet desperate enough to finally abandon their stupid DRM-stance, I have no sympathy for them.
I would have paid 20-30$ if it had been DRM-free, now I'm not even sure if it's worth 1$ to me.
This.
I wrote an email to HIB to tell them what I think about this bundle.
Good deal, good deal. Wanted to pick up some of these during the Steam sale, but money was tight at the time.

ne_zavarj: developer
What's the difference? What it really should say, even during the normal Humble Indie Bundles is "Rights Holder". You think a developer can legally sell a game that the publisher owns the rights for? THQ owns the games, THQ gets the money. I fail to see why you think there is something wrong with that.
contact@humblebundle.com -- let them know directly your dissatisfaction.

Plenty of games in the recent numbered bundles (5 and 6) had no DRM-free version before the bundle, SPAZ and Jamestown for example. Humble Bundle stuck to their guns though and the games got DRM-free versions because the devs wanted to be in the bundle.
This sets a bad precedent now, for other devs to avoid making their games DRM-free.
So, If I want just one game out of the lot and I use the key... I get that game, and all the repeats just vanish? Awesome...
Warning for all fellow Germans. The Saints Row 3 key does not work. Will report back if hotspot shield helps with that.

Ugh... this wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't Steam only. Write to HB and complain!
