Kristian: Why the heck would any developer remove the DRM from their game due to a DRM only bundle? That makes no sense at all.
Mostly because of technical issues that can arise from this bundle being DRMed, problems with Steam, backslash of people who didn't have prior experience with this particular DRM, stuff like that. There's always two sides to a coin. And yes, I am making presumptions. Kind of like you do. Kristian: Well I just care much more about DRM free, cross-platform gaming that you do it seems. I care enough to the point that it IS worth demonizing as much as a I have. The thing is I am almost certain that the amount of games that will give up DRM and go cross-platform because of this is 0 and I have a zero tolerance towards even one game that may otherwise have given up its DRM and single platform nature due to this sticking to it.
Caring is fine, caring for DRM free, cross-platform gaming more than for anything else is not. Don't forget Humble bundles don't only stand for that, and if all you did was criticize HIB's decision to sell DRMed games, that would be fine. Thing is, that's not what you're doing. You're making speculations and saying that this will turn a charity event into money-grabbing charity-abusing soulless I don't even know what, forgetting that HIB was never helping charity by DRM free games in the first place. And it's nice that you have zero tolerance towards something that might have happened, I have zero tolerance towards dinosaurs not being extinguished as well! It means that you seem to perceive anyone defending what he likes as a white knight.

But I will comment on something else you said, in the other post:
"So, how about: "All Jews are a danger to society!" That's an extremist view."
It is just wrong. Its wrongness has nothing to do with it being extreme. In fact accroding to shades of grey thinking there is no such thing as something that is wrong. So according to shades of grey thinking saying that "All Jews are a danger to society!" is wrong is binary thinking. That is why I am opposed to shades of grey thinking, since I do believe there are things that are wrong, like saying: "All Jews are a danger to society!"

Just something I've noticed lately. It's probably just you fed up with the behavior so much that you're going to slap it on anything that even remotely resembles it. I can't refer to anything specific, because quite frankly it's not worth the searching to me.

StingingVelvet: I understood the concept. I do not understand why you are saying that or what incident you could be referring to.

Feel free to. I did say what it seems to me, I have made it quite clear that it's my very personal and biased point of view.

I don't find it this amusing. Am I supposed to? Is this a translation issue? It's genuinely hard to tell. I'm not labeling you in any way, shape or form, I'm just being honest with what I think you Stinging droid oppressor :D
Maybe you don't understand what a white knight is.

May be, I never could find a finite definition. From what I gather it's a person who will automatically jump to the rescue of anyone else who doesn't quite require or deserve it.
Still, I am mostly poking fun at you you know. Probably because you're such an easy target, I mean really, you take even this way too seriously :D

I'm not really offended, I just didn't understand. I think I get what you mean now though, it's all good. Edit: to be clear white knight, in my experience, refers only to the sexism/racism aspect of things. It could be broader though, language is flexible that way.

Oh no, the thread is dying down! That can't be happening.
So, as this bundle is pretty obviously becoming the most successful by a long shot. I guess that also means we can all finally stop the "DRM free" as a marketing brand and focus on games again.
Are we seeing the swan song of "DRM free"?

Been watching this unfold the past few days and have to say, it is way beyond belief some of the arguments that have broke out. So, as this bundle is pretty obviously becoming the most successful by a long shot. I guess that also means we can all finally stop the "DRM free" as a marketing brand and focus on games again.

However, instead of wasting my time joining in with this free for all battle royale I have been playing the excellent and wacky Saints Row 3, on Steam of course with some friends commenting on the crazy screen shots that have been contributed to the game hub.
I have also had the time so finally get through the awesome Captain Scarlett DLC for Borderlands 2, once again a Steam exclusive, but you know what, I aint bothered, its an awesome game that I had been waiting for since Duke Forever was finished. Gearbox releases something and wherever it gets released I will buy it, I support those guys, they make great games for the PC and consoles.
Once ingame I can see where abouts friends are in the game as it shows their current mission, I click on their name and join their game and co op is a go.......simple as that, plug the headset into my 360 controller and have live chat while playing.
What happens when you take a leak when its windy, it gets blown back in your face to put it politely.
This thread is way past the voice of reason unfortunately Simon, me and you both know that haters are going to hate while the rest of us enjoy the games wherever we get them from.

StingingVelvet: I doubt it will effect GOG at all because of the classic game focus. Will certainly effect future bundles though.
For GOG "DRM free" was always a given bonus. in the beginning 90% of their catalogue were DRM free anyway. They would have needed to implement their own solution (which I think with DOSbox games is simply impossible.). It doesn't cost them anything, so running with it is no problem when it comes to old games. But with new games I think their stance on not providing Steam keys is costing them more sales than the DRM free marketing can bring in. (Of course, this is simply on a "sale vs. sale" point. Secondary effects of selling Steam keys are a whole different issue.
GOG (or the humble guys) is a little bit like the republican party, they gladly invited the radical elements when it was their benefit, but now they are haunted by their own ghosts.
