Kristian: I stand by that 100%. I am a either/or, love it or hate it person. In all aspects of my life.

Love and Hate are not opposites, it is quite common to love and hate the same thing, in fact those feelings are closely related. The opposite to love is indifference.

pass me that glass of red wine, would you?
I am glad I could make you laugh. But I don't see why you would laugh about someone having principles.

Imagine a toilet paper.

"It's not 100% cellulose! HATE IT!" :D
keeveek, that has nothing to do with principles.

Well, to be fair, you said "all aspects of your life". ;)

Leroux, 1)That was hyperbole 2)That was about the love/hate thing. Not about things being mixed or not. What I am saying is that I am rarely indifferent about anything. I am opinionated and that is a matter of my personality type. The other thing I was saying was a matter philosophical stance, in particular regarding ethical theory. I don't think this is the correct thread to pursue that discussion. Suffice to say that I think such "shades of grey" thinking leads to some really nasty stuff. Perhaps I should create a thread about it.

Edit:

amok, I think I have been pretty consistent in my critique of Humble Bundle in this thread:

1. They are abandoning their own principles which is bad in and of it self but also:
A). Undermines the Humble Bundle brand and leads to distrust in Humble Bundle Inc, since we apparently can't trust them to even uphold what we thought were their most cherished principles.
B)Will have bad consequences for future Humble Indie Bundles since it will be harder if not impossible for them to get developers that were on the fence about DRM free and cross-platform gaming to sign up under those terms.
C)It may well hurt GOG since it undermines their negotiation position. I will be very very surprised if GOG ever signs another major publisher.

hmm? it is black or white thinking that leads to wars... shades of grey is inclusive, black and white exclusive.

(you are wither with us or against us compared with it is all fine, we are all different)

Did I just accidentally derail this thread?

So, the bundle is about to pass the 2,2M mark
A literature for women too shy to watch actual porn.

we will soon see who is right there wont we? HIB 7 is coming out soon, around Christmas I guess. If it is DRM free and cross platform as usual, then I am right, if it is DRM'd and windows only then you are. I can wait until then :)

we can also see whether GoG is out of business within a year or not.

You are are putting up a strawman argument. I have NEVER claimed this will make it impossible for them to release HIB's the usual way. But that it will make it impossible for them to get new games on to Linux and DRM free. So the only games that will be in new HIB's if they indeed were to follow the same old principles will already be cross-platform and probably also DRM free. So while the Humble Bundle guys have been able to convince developers to port games to Linux and Mac before this(like with Double Fine and Psyconauts) they won't be able to do that any more.
