Yeah, it's probably worth it for the CoH soundtrack alone, so my spending $6 is not an entire waste, but still, I think this is by far the worst of the HIBs.

I personally have no desire to support THQ or the Humble Bundle financially for this as it stands, which is why I gave it all to charity. Now if they'd at least released DRM-free versions for Windows, I would have easily paid at least $30 for the lot, $50 with Linux versions. And if they come to their senses and release DRM-free versions as bonuses, I'll up my contribution.

It's that simple.

How people cannot grasp this idea is beyond me.

This particular bundle sucks for me, because for some reason (and I've tried multiple times at different times) I cannot make a Steam account. It never completes and always errors no matter what. I was going to try to make an account just to see what all the fuss was about, but ended up having to use a friend's instead. I wasn't impressed by it.

Steam-only bundles bar me from contributing even if I wanted to, which I don't. I don't like being forced to log into an account just to play a game I've purchased, especially if I don't have internet access at the time and something happened to kick the 'offline mode' out of play. Bad times, Humble Bundle, bad times.

Giving to THQ is not the same as giving to devs and explain why I should care about THQ's situation? They made bad business decisions and will go out of business, that's how it's supposed to work. Their IP will be bought and released by others, it effects the consumer very little outside of maybe someone competent getting their IPs.

As much as their switch to DRM only bugs me making stuff up about Steam is not a reason to complain about it. Offline mode works fine and of course you can make an account in Canada, if something went wrong try again or email support.

yeah... last year the christmas humble bundle was full with awesome indie games, very cheap and massive value...

this year we'll get steam keys for old games everyone has already :(

Because THQ are a half decent publisher who isnt called EA or Activision or Ubisoft (there's only a few big (decent) publishers?).Sure they made some lousy business decisions but how do we know for fact none of the contributed funds from this bundle will go to devs?. Some of us would like THQ to stick around.

THQ is a publisher, not a dev. Really? Because now people perceive them as the only publisher in the world, that is so stubborn than even hanging on a cliff of bankruptcy they just refuse to make their games DRM Free

How they are better than EA in this conclusion?

I'm not stupid. I do realise that you can make an account in Canada. My friend was fully able to make an account herself and she lives in the same town. Since I can find the games I most want to play elsewhere, I found e-mailing them about the problem of not being able to make an account myself more trouble than it was worth.

I'm not making stuff up about Steam and the complaint I have is about Humble Bundle doing Steam-only for this particular bundle. Offline mode has worked fine at times, but it's also screwed up if something happened with the login, the internet, or some combination of both for various reasons. I'm not lying when I write about what has happened to me, so do not assume that I am spreading misinformation when I am simply telling the truth about my own experiences. Not everything works perfectly for everyone.

I gave most of my 6 bucks to charity with this one. Both THQ and HB got a 50 cent each.

Because the Humble Bundle was about PWYW and giving a part to charity. That were there cores, that is what was able in every bundle so far.

The perceived fall from DRM free simply isn't. The bitching of people combined with the fact that this bundle will be the most successful does only marginalize any presumed DRM free movement even further.

Yeah, this may be actually the case. In my private ranking THQ is now below Ubisoft even :P But still above Interplay :D

For me THQ is in the "everybody else cloud". They made good games, but nothing spectacular. I never really bothered much with them until recently, as they were mostly a console pub.

So, you think Humble Bundle will save them? Even if they manage to earn 10 milion dollars on this bundle, it's just pocket money. IT will let them survive for another year maybe, but I'm sure it won't save them.

What they should do, is to stop being AAA+ publisher, simple as that. If they continue with their current line of work, they're as good as dead.
