amok: hmm - in a little over 1 hour it made 36k sales at an average of $5.20, totalling $187k.... wonder how well it will do in the end. My guess this will be the best selling themed bundle they have had so far.
The customer have voted again?
Indeed, the vast majority of consumers don't give a shit about DRM. This has been proven time and time again. Shit, I bet the vast majority prefer Steam over DRM free executables. The customer have voted again?
This doesn't mean we shouldn't have principled sites like GOG and (previously) thehumblebundle who insist on DRM free versions anyway. It's a bummer to see one of them change their tune.

The moment they started offering optional steam keys exclusive steam keys were only a hop away. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, they've hopped.
My appreciation for GOG just doubled in the past hour or so.

Especially since the Humble Bundle was te only other site dedicated to offering DRM-free games. Even Desura has some DRM'd games, and DotEmu.com is almost non-existent.

jgresham: Quick question - how many of the games available in the earlier bundles were not already available elsewhere as DRM free, and how many of the games in the new bundle are? If THQ doesn't produce DRM free versions anywhere, I hardly see them doing it solely for HB. This could therefore be framed as a technical limitation from Humble bundles point of view, just like not being able to offer all their games on certain platforms.
SirPrimalform: Plenty of games in the recent numbered bundles (5 and 6) had no DRM-free version before the bundle, SPAZ and Jamestown for example. Humble Bundle stuck to their guns though and the games got DRM-free versions because the devs wanted to be in the bundle. This sets a bad precedent now, for other devs to avoid making their games DRM-free.
I don't really have much of a beef with HB for being practical when trying to bring a major publisher on board. Truth be told, they couldn't demand DRM free from anyone who wasn't already on board with the idea or who didn't genuinely need them. THQ just doesn't.
I know many people would rather have not had the pack at all. But plenty think it is still worth doing, and I think a major publisher being prepared to experiment with unconventional sales methods is very much a positive step.

I agree with most GOGers. If they are so desperate to appear ond Humble Bundle, but yet they are still not desperate enough to make their games DRM-Free....
THEY ARE WORSE THAN EA!!!! :P
Really, I wish they died, so THQ games would appear on GOG published by whoever buys them.
Anyway, I bought only the basic bundle, because I won't get a PC capable of running smoothly SR3 in a long time.

Back when they added Steam keys for the HIB1, I asked them with exactly that kind of concern. Jeff (Rosen I presume) personally said "Don't worry, that is the polar opposite of what the humble bundle is about!". I believed him. =(

Pretty good bundle but a little disappointing that Humble Bundle have moved away from their offering of DRM free copies along with their bundles
