park_84: Bluish Demigod, why is Humble GOG Bundle taking so long to happen? Is it because GOG don't have a symbolic logo to put next to the games supported by GOG like Origin and Steam do?

amok: edit - just as it is wrong to say "GG is Paradox store". It has not been so for many years now.
You can split hairs all you want, but when I see all the paradox games frequently on sale and new releases always featured I know whats up.

Might get BTA just for Magicka-is it any good?
I usually only get the PDS games anyway so I'm not sure about the other releases.

Magicka is supposed to be very good. I was just going to buy it full price, but then this comes along and offers it (and some other good games) to me for only a little over half off :) Although you only get Magicka if you beat the average.

You... know what's up? ... Take a moment to think just how silly you sound right now.

Did that? Good, let's try that again: Paradox used to own GG, that is no longer the case. The two businesses separated a few years back and now are entirely independent. Because of it's origins, GG used to be the principal online store for Paradox titles, until they built up their Steam userbase. GG still remain the second most popular source for Paradox games. An established popularity with the Paradox fanbase, plus a good and long-lasting working relationship with Paradox, lead to regular promotions of Paradox titles. With the growth of their catalogue, I get the feeling these are happening less and less, though (which I personally regret). Better?

Yes they are entirely seperate, they own each others stock, their CEOs are buttbuddies and the companies are seated 1km from each other. Really there is nothing connecting these two.

011284mm: 2 - Vocal? I am not too sure. Yes people who want DRM-free games are noisy here, but are they really that noisy elsewhere? I check Groupees chat, Desura and IGS forums. There is the odd bit, but not really that much.
From what I've followed Kickstarter projects anti-DRM people are perhaps the most vocal ones, even more so than Linux people. On some cases they are the same people though. From what I've seen both overestimate their relevancy on a large scale, on small scale projects they might be a signifacnt factor, but the bigger the projects get, the smaller their signifigance drops.

Disclaimer: I don't have anything against Linux people or anti-DRM peoplem this is just a personal observation I've done. Heck, If I'd have something against anti-DRM movement I wouldn't be a customer at GOG.

Honestly? Because there's two ways to succeed in business:

1. Price
2. Doing something different.

In a Pay What You Want basis, it's not exactly possible to compete on price. So I'd rather do something different. Which means not copying someone else's business model and hope that it works for us. I'd rather do something that's different, exciting, and fits more comfortably inside our own area of expertise.

That doesn't mean we'll never do a "Humble GOG Bundle", but it does mean that we won't do it unless we we believe w can do it better.

Crusader Kings 2 is horrible without DLCs. And I don't mean cosmetic DLCs, but the game content DLCs.

What is even worse, on the course of upgrading the game, people who don't own any DLCs have even lesser game than before!

I wonder how that would hold up in court - somebody bought CK2 and was playing the Byzantine empire, his favourite nation. But when the Legacy of Rome DLC came out, he can't play as Byzantine empire AT ALL, unless he buys an expansion.

Over a course of time, they disabled some options for him and require him to pay for them.

CK2 without major DLCs is barebones.

Personally? I'd love to have 'em. I have no idea where we are in negotiations, though. Insert the usual TET speech about "we are constantly in talks with everybody in the industry about all topics at all times" here. ;)

And, especially now after bundles like the EA one, wouldn't it pay off just only considering the exposure? I guess that the former HB user could be more aware of GOG, both services share(d) some common points, but the last bundles endorsed by some big names must have drawn many new users to HB, its next newsletters will be sent to more and more people that might not know about you. GOG is already doing different, maybe you could take benefit of its user base and let them know about that.
