porkchorp: "This bundle provides Steam keys only"

Humble can blow me
Honestly that's on paradox. Hell in their OWN STORE they only sell steam keys. As far as I know gamestop and gamersgate are the only ones that sell them in non-steam.
isnt war of roses free 2 play

I thought gamersgate is their store

They split into two different companies quite a while ago.

Interview from 2009 mentions the split.

This town ain't big enough for both of us.
A-meh-zing.
Not fully on-topic, sorry, but I wonder how long can gamersgate stay afloat? They've had their fair share for fuck-ups, and overall the service is lacking a bit (imo).

Though they have a vast catalog, perhaps that's their lifeline?

011284mm: I start to wonder if HubbleBubble really did burst on the DRM free front. :(
Considering the public has already shown that anti-DRM folk really are just vocal, not a majority, i doubt they care that much anymore. HB has made, even from low end estimates, millions with the couple of latest bundles, like the EA one. People will buy a good deal (in this case a load of games cheaply).

Split doesn't mean they gifted it away and are not associated anymore. Paradox probably still owns most of gamersgate so I'd say it is their store.

No, this is not quite right. last I heard about 20% of the shares in GG is owned by Paradox...

Edit - and that was some years ago, before Paradox opened their own marketplace.

Only really interested in Kingmaker. Probably going to pass, really need to stop buying stuff.

blotunga: Who cares about DLCs? I can live without them, especially the cosmetic ones...
Who cares about the missing expansion packs on GOG games? Me, for example.

Yeah, if I knew some DLC is merely cosmetic or multiplayer only, I can forget it, but since I have no idea what the couple dozen missing DLCs for Magicka contain etc., and I can't be arsed to check and try to decipher each of their descriptions either, I'd rather have them all just to be safe. A GOTY release, if you will.

I don't have any of the games in the bundle (even the big kahuna one for $125, LOL!), as Cities in Motion is the only Paradox game I have, so this should be an especially good deal for me... yet, for the lack of DLCs, I think I'll pass even for getting the base games for $1. After all, they are mere Steam keys.

Still some days to change my mind though, but I guess I have to draw the line somewhere. These "get the base game for low price, and buy DLCs separately for a much higher price" are even worse than F2P schemes.

When is a new Humble Indie Bundle coming out, by the way? Or are they now on the back seat with all these Steam/Origin key bundles which just seem to be popping up now? They could just as well shut down their own file servers for the DRM-free executables, just keep selling the keys to other services.

I have bought it for CKII mainly. But still I think it's a good deal.

Bigs: Paradox games are perpetually on sale somewhere ALL THE FRIGGING TIME - most notable GamersGate... but elsewhere as well....

PASS!
avatar
Zacron: PASS!???

If you say so. But this is a GREAT deal on the games that are there. I mean, no matter what sale you find, you are not going to find the 8 games there for less than the average, unless you buy a major bundle for a lot more.
I think adding the price of the missing DLCs gives a much more realistic view what this bundle _really_ costs.

Like MS didn't care with their XBOne U-turn? :)
