I saw the newsletter today and thought, wow there is Risen, Risen2, Metro 2033 and other good stuff!

Then I realized, no Linux support, no software whatsoever, those are just keys to unlock the games on the Steam platform. They still support charity, though!

It started with Linux, Windows, Mac, DRM free Indie-Games and is now YASP (YetAnotherSalesPlatform)?
Yes, been that way for quite a while now.
Must've been comfy under that rock/in that cave.

FYI, I bought the last bundle May 2013 and this was with Linux support and DRM free. So this change must have happened in the last 8-10 months.

Those sales platforms are like websites:
1. have a good idea
2. become famous
3. sell the name
Humble Bundle can be steam only yes. Humble Indie Bundles tends to still be cross-platform and DRM free. To date, there have been 11 Humble Indie Bundles.
There was Open Source bundle (with no actual source codes) which was full of DRM-free, multiplatform games and OST but yeah, Humble Bundle is basically another Steam reseller these days.

This specific bundle was out in June 2013. I don't think it was the first steam only bundle, but I may be mistaken. Tell me if you want me to go look.

The first Steam only Bundle was the THQ bundle, sold November 2012 (if I remember correctly)

I really think about getting it, for Metro 2033 and some other DeepSilver games only available on Steam. Not to play now, but for a rainy summer afternoon.

If you don't have the Deep Silver games, then yes, I think it is a very good bundle. You get a lot of game time for your monies worth in it. The only iffy games, in my opinion, is the Dead Island games and Risen 2, the rest are perfect "rainy day" fodder :)
As far as I see, they only sell DRM-free games in Humble Indie Bundles. But when it comes to Humble Whatever Bundles - you can expect only steam keys there. So, now they sell Daily bundles, not Indie. Though I could be wrong.

I got the confirmation email on 14.05.2013, called '2 Player Productions Amnesia Fortnight 2012 Documentary'

How do I redeem Steam keys without the client (not currently installed)? If I ask their support, it takes two days and then they want a screenshot of something.

Not sure you can. I think the client is needed to activate CD-Keys.

Yeah they changed that a while back. Instead of the Steam Keys you have to bind your steam account to your humble account, and it'll activate there. Or you can click the little gift box to generate a url that will give you the option to bind it to an account later (you don't have to give away the url, can use it yourself.).

Oh, this actual works. You click that button on the HIB website to redeem, sign in all over the place at Steam with some of your logins and allow Humble Bundle to activate it. :)
