I'd say it depends - you might learn to enjoy getting wiped out in seconds...

It is a quite difficult game and there is a lot of luck involved so don't get discouraged in the beginning.
Keep at it and you'll learn how to deal with most situations eventually.

However, if you don't like rogue-likes that's another story.

Same here, but on normal. On my second try I got to the fourth sector (out of what, 10-12?). And I absolutely suck at strategizing.

So don't lose hope.

Your experience started off a lot like mine. I ended up liking the game a lot in the end, even though it still kicks my ass, just much later in the game.

etna87: Hm, first time that I have a problem with HIB (Mark of the Ninja key does not work) and it seems they deactivated the live support... was it available for the previous bundle?

edit: It seems the issue was resolved while I was typing the mail, it's in my account now (on activation, Steam displayed something about some key subscription, "Your subscription to %%subscription%% was successful")
Same here with FEZ. It seems to be a problem with the Steam Servers. i activated FEZ and it doesn't appear in my library. It worked after a restart of Steam.

That's definitely not what I was hoping to hear. Basically, I equate "you need to be lucky" with "piss-poor game design".

Edit: Having now played the game, I can say that the above statement is not true of FTL. It is very well designed, and while luck is a factor in the game, it's not a controlling one.

You don't need luck to beat FTL. You just need to play and die and learn from your mistakes. You will improve as you go.

Wow - this was my favorite Humble Bundle yet. My first where I bought the above average just because the games were worth it (only one I already had was FTL from here on GOG although I hadn't played it yet). None of the games were ones I'd normally make a point to play, but so many had good comments about them that I had to spring just put them in my backlog to to try a couple out. Surely there's some good fun in there somewhere.

In my Steam it does _not_ unlock the special edition DLC. looks like key is just for base game.

Are the soundtracks available in flac?

Prolly won't influence my decision... Most likely buy the bundle either way
