SimonG: Yeah, because using existing infrastructure to help a struggling new dev on the market to actually finish their game is such a crime.
1. It was already finished. 2. Tyler Glaiel is not exactly struggling.

Kristian: How much did you guys go for and how did you distribute it? I went in for $35, with around $14-15 going towards charity and the rest to the developers, with a Humble tip of $0.00. Made it count towards the Linux average.
$6.00: $0.50 to DD for the DLC
$1.00 to Shank 2
$1.00 to Snapshot
$1.00 to Closure
$2.00 to Charity ($1.00 to each)
$0.50 to Humble Tip
Yeah, I'm a cheap bastard.

SirPrimalform: It's already been DRM-free in an Indie Royale and the developers are dicks. They just neglected to update the DRM-free/Desura versions for months.
SimonG: Because this does cost them money? And what is the percentage of DD gamers not using Steam 1%? Maybe less. That game is an online multiplayer game. There is absolutely no purpose in a DRM free version. Unless you want to play the shitty SP. Which is nothing anybody should I really dislike this attitude shown here. Only because they don't cater to the sensibilities of a selected few, which are only held back by their own petty grievances with Steam they are bad? Should they spend additional, disproportional to the gamers affected, money and resources to cater to those?
Unless indie devs are currently swimming in money and can't find anymore hookers and blow they really shouldn't waste resources that way.
Some people really need to get some respect for the developers.
A dev saying they don't want to sell a game elsewhere is different from them actually doing so then refusing to support all versions.

grviper: In that case you only pay them for processing :) I started sending every installer over 300mb to the torrent client.

Three people won a hundred thousand bucks. That isn't really much. Eyebrow games are three people with no other games. If they decided that the time invested in patching and supporting the game through any other mean than Steam is bigger than the few extra DRM free sales, than that is their damn right.
Nobody is forcing you to buy it. But that is how the business works and no reason to be angry at them. It's not like you can't use Steam for any reason.

Waiting for the added games before diving in. A great selection so far, but I own the ones I'm interested in one way or another.

Darling_Jimmy: Not to open that can of worms again but it should be pointed out that misrepresenting Kristian's position doesn't strengthen your own. ;)

Fictionvision: If they aren't willing to support all versions of the game they shouldn't have it up for sale on other store fronts. Apparently they are OK enough to release a DRM free version here, but won't take it down from Desura and still accept sales there.
A dev saying they don't want to sell a game elsewhere is different from them actually doing so then refusing to support all versions.
AFAIK, they only sold the core game DRM free. Any DLC requires Steam. The core game is finished and does not need anymore patching and can (presumably) be played with other DRM free users online over trendy net.A dev saying they don't want to sell a game elsewhere is different from them actually doing so then refusing to support all versions.

My house seems to be doomed, as most people in the area seem to have no troubles. But then again, we have had some cheap and nasty service providers. There's the saying "you get what you pay for". It's fast and stable during the day, but in the evening it cuts out EVERY NIGHT. Most of the time it loses connection for 5-10 minutes, resumes, and then about 20 mins later it cuts out again. I have to find another internet deal, but i can't be bothered, lol.
