Picard was never the 'new Kirk' RIKER was the new Kirk! Especially pre-beard!
so it's a bit apples and oranges, but Kirk was better than Riker and Picard never did This! so yeah, teh Shat!
No one mentioned whatever the hell Scott Bakula's character off of Enterprise was so

Just for completeness, but yeah Kirk for the win!

Funny story about Riker. One time my dad (who is a big trekkie) ran into him at an airport. He said hi and said he was a big fan, but made the mistake of addressing him as Riker. He abruptly responded with a firm "Jonathan Frakes", and then had to take a phone call from his wife, so that was pretty much the end of that conversation.

Kirk. Unlike Picard, we actually get to play as Kirk in Judgement Rites and 25th Anniversary. Besides, Kirk was in Wrath of Khan, unlike Picard who was in...something not as good.

Picard, hands down. A peerless leader, always looking for a solution through brains and diplomacy, not brawn. His boldness is a boldness that says "don't worry, I'm right behind you", a hypnotising boldness that keeps his crew calm and loyal.

Kirk just stumbles around and sexes up the alien chicks.

kodeen: I already have the bundle so I'm not entering the contest, but I'm going to have to say that Kirk was a violent and simple neanderthal, killing anyone in his path who wasn't white, while Picard was civilized and diplomatic (captains need good diplomaticy) and played the flute and drank tea, earl grey, hot.
