New Game Jam, this time with Tim Schafer and Double Fine.

You can vote on several game ideas out of a pool of 23, each of them pitched by a Double Fine employee. After 1 week Double Fine will make prototypes out of the top 4 voted ideas.

They will live-stream the creation of the prototypes (about 2-3 weeks) and you will get the 4 prototypes made. (+ steam keys if there will be any)

If you contribute more than $1 you also get Happy Song Prototype and Costume Quest Prototype.

Proceedings go to Child's Play.

It seems like an interesting bundle.
This looks really cool.

I wonder if any of the prototypes will become full games after the fortnight.

depends on how good they are, I guess. I like this though, it is always fun to see creativity in progress.
Hmm, Kalirion was a minute earlier (according to the forum timestamps), yet you seem to have gained the most momentum.

I humbly (see what I did there?) accept my defeat

Hmm, I am not sure if I should compile a list of the prototype ideas, or if it should be a surprise for people participating. There are some good pitches in there. I have not decided which one to vote for yet.
Kaiju Piledriver hooked me.

I really like the Black Lake idea. It could become a great adventure game.
They have time for this? I thought they are busy with DFAdventure? :P

I was very disappointed with HB Mojam, so this time, I'm not gonna participate.
Hmmm I'll keep my eye on this.

What they have done, is basically taken one of the processes which takes place in within all game developer companies and making a little bit of publicity and money out of it, and some charity. There is usually a process where they company needs to start looking for the next game to make, this must be done before the one they are working on is finished so there is no "dead-time" which is a money drain, Preferably all game development should overlap to minimise expenses. One way of doing this is to let everyone pitch new ideas and then they decide which one to do. This is the pitch from all. It is quite fun, and I think it is value for money just looking through the 23 pitches so far, even though maybe not a single one of them may become a game.
Is anyone else having serious problems with the videos on their page? Everything keeps skipping like crazy for me. Not even setting them to 240p fixes the problem. :(

Yes, it's skipping on mine too. Looked at my open tasks, to see if something was running amok, but couldn't see anything strange. Glad to see it wasn't just my pc acting up.
