tarasis: Aka. Bundle Overload.

Plus side of this bundle is it stopped me getting the Daily Bundle. I already had series 2 of Doctor Who on Comixology and had been meaning to get Series 1 & 3 (plus the Prisoner of Time) now that they'd been reduced to $1 an issue on Comixology.

So $15 for 47 comics I haven't read seems like a great deal. Though yes I'd have loved the top tier to be say $10 (particularly as I have no interest in the Android app).

The only sucky thing for me in this bundle, is that there are no CBR/CBZ versions, like there were in the Image Comics bundle.
Yeah still looking for a good version and reader... right now the regular PDFs and Foxit on my Kobo seem to be fine. The epubs are really huge.

As for the sample of Vol 1... it's pretty bad. They changed the art style around issue #3, for the better, I think. Oh well I think it takes a while to get a comic's visual style rolling (see Schlock Mercenary for one example)

They say more comics coming, too. I wonder if they'll add CBR/CBZ formats later too?
$15 for the top tier may seem pricey, but in Canada $15 would get you Vol. 1 of Series 1 by itself (at least last I checked at the places I frequent). It's a great deal for the hardcore fans (less so if you're not really into DW, or if you hate Eleven, like a lot of the fanbase did).

I have Vol. 1 and 2 of Series 1 in print, and yes, the art was a major disappointment, compared to other Doctor Who volumes I have like Through Time and Space, and The Forgotten (which was really good). The writing made up for it, IMO.

It would be interesting to see what they're going to add to it. I missed out on the absolutely bonkers ST:TNG/DW crossover ("Assimilation ^2"), so it would be fun to get that in the bundle too.

David Tennant is the true Doctor, the others are just actors who play the Doctor ! #TeamTennant
Only the serie 1 could interested me, but not sure the stories are as good as the serie ?
Dont know much about the comics but dont think ill get it. Like the tv series well until matt Smith came along and being an old school DW fan (Tom Baker was my real Doctor) i feel a bit sad that i cant stand his Doctor
> comic book bundle
> featuring David Tennant plus all of Doctor Who: Series 2 featuring Matt Smith

wut
And on the note of comics, what's the status of colour e-ink displays and ebook readers with them? Any recommendations?

My 6" Sony Reader is awesome for books, but it is a bit too small for comics (a 9-10" display would be preferable), and the display being grayscale doesn't really help.

Well, it could be worse. In the R.E.D. comics (the movie tie-ins) it said
Based on characters of the movie R.E.D. based on characters of the comic R.E.D.
Or something to that extent.

I began with Tom Baker, but David Tennant won me over. And after watching Matt Smith for a bit I got to be very impressed with his portrayal. The guy seems fairly reserved and quite young in real life but plays the exact opposite as the Doctor.

Besides, The Lodger.
Extras unlocked. Blog blurb
The bundle began with 63 great comics straight from Gallifrey to you. Thanks to Time Lord technology and the folks at IDW it has been upgraded with the addition of 22 more comics bringing the collection up to 85 total issues!

These volumes add even more sonic to your screwdriver! Well, maybe not but they do bring more David Tennant and Matt Smith to the Humble Doctor Who Comics Bundle Presented by IDW. New to the bundle are three more volumes featuring David Tennant: The Forgotten, Agent Provocateur and Through Time and Space. A tip of the fez throws in one more Matt Smith collection, A Fairytale Life.

Hurry and go grab yours! In the meantime, I need to go. I think there’s something on my back…
On the one hand, it is Doctor Who and I would probably enjoy reading some of the comics. On the other hand, the second week comics feature Martha in most of them... *facedesks*

Edit: I don't hate Martha but she certainly isn't one of my favorites.

Telika: guys, before doing something terrible, you should maybe click on the pdf previews.

no wait that might qualify as a time paradox there.

HGiles: ?

For $15 I like this bundle. I've wanted to get back into comics for a bit, but the typical comic misogyny+terrible stories+ham-handed writing put me off. Dr. Who is a bit better than the typical superhero stuff.
if you want something other than the superhero mainstream stuff check out the darkness and witchblade
After reading the first volume, and part of the second... the quality of these varies pretty significantly. Overall the first volume was really good, but the first two issues *cringe*. Then it started to get really good, now in Vol 2 the art turned really amateur again.

Anyway, enjoying it so far.

All that seems to be missing from their entire collection, apart from the classic volumes are:

- Doctor Who: The Whispering Gallery
- Doctor Who: The Time Machination
- Doctor Who: Autopia
- Doctor Who: Room with a Deja View
- Doctor Who: Cold Blooded War
- Doctor Who: Black Death White Life

(not including the Star Trek crossover). That's a pretty good haul.

-snip-
From the description of "Through Time and Space"

"Collecting six original stories of the popular sci-fi show, Doctor Who, all featuring the Tenth Doctor, as portrayed by David Tennant. Includes the one-shots The Whispering Gallery, The Time Machination, Autopia, Cold-Blooded Cold War, Just a Theory, and Black Death by a bevy of talented creators, including Ben Templesmith and John Ostrander (Star Wars: Legacy)."

That's most of them right there! Enjoy. :)
