Bigs: GameFly is ONE OF THE WORST online stores when it comes to non-US customers and regional locking
...And? I stated the post was specifically for USD.
Taken for Risen and Sacred 2.

OmegaX: Right-click the game in your list and select "View Downloadable Content", you should have a big list of DLC available. If you don't then something is wrong.
Steam might take a while until it decides to start downloading the content but it should update itself in a while.
Restarting the client itself seems to be the best was to "force" Steam to check for updates, if it doesn't seem to start automatically.

Meaning nothing - since I purchase in USD at just about every online shop I go to.
Just to confirm - Saints Row 2 in Germany is uncensored, making this the first release of the game in Germany that could be legally activated without the use of a VPN on PC.

Nah, it's a resort of people who think pushing a button expresses their opinion enough.

Pavlov's Goggers, that's how I call them. Pavlov's GOGs sounds even nicer.

bansama: Just in case no one has addressed this yet (no time to read all the replies), the full package is the DLC only as you get the base game in the first tier.
I hadn't seen it addressed here, but I did kind of assume that is what it contained.
Always good to have clarification though, thanks.

The Saints Row 2 from Amazon.com also activated without a VPN. (Probably the same "internal id"). I bought it stand alone on May 17th.

(this one:

Edit:

As this version already has Deep Silver as a pub, I guess the game left the "shit won't fly, bro" list around the time of the publisher change.

Any news on actual fixes for the game?

Interesting. Sounds like Deep Silver's first official act as bearer of the Saints Row IP was to get rid of the region locks.

I've just checked and apparently Saints Row 2 is not confiscated, just a long-term member of the "shit won't fly, bro" list. Funny, I thought I recalled reading that it was banned. They were quick to push Mortal Kombat and Modern Warfare 2 through the courts and get them banned, but Saints Row 2 is still lounging around on List B five years later. Gotta love the BPjM.

I guess Deep Silver will be pushing for it to be moved back to List A at some point, especially given the rulings on Saints Row 3 and 4.

Official? I don't think so. The game on Steam still has the THQ logo, and it still runs a tad fast.

Apparently, the PowerTools mod fixes the speed issue, although doesn't seem to work for me.

Which probably also means the the publisher at least has a say in those issues. I guess they can request an IP lock "to be safe" (which I think is also the case with MW2) , but on the other hand, can't force Steam to sell or activate a game on the official "shit won't fly, bro" list.

Or Steam refused the activation due to the controversy back then and Deep Silver convinced them that this is no longer necessary.

Yeah, I'd think those two scenarios are fairly plausible.

Valve has already demonstrated that it doesn't have much of a clue about German law at all, and the involvement of a German publisher no doubt helped to smooth things over a little. That being said, Valve has released Left 4 Dead 2 without region locks (at least within the EU), so a German user could buy a UK copy, activate it and play it in Germany, even though the game is not only on the shit-won't-fly-bro list but has also had its sale in Germany banned by court order.

I do find it interesting that there's not a single regionally-locked uncensored game by a German publisher on Steam, unlike Namco Bandai (Inversion), Activision (CoD), Take 2 (Borderlands) and also obviously formerly THQ. Seems that knowledge of the law of the land goes a long way.

Whatever, I meant USA... sorry! I guess from now on I won't mention anything else I find since every single time I do someone has something mean to say about it.

All I was trying to do was help people..

I guess it is a "better safe than sorry" approach. Who knows what they have heard about German law.

And Borderlands can't be activated? Hmmm... I got it on my account.

I did a bit of digging. My Borderlands GOTY copy was gifted, so that doesn't mean much. But I gave a key from this Amazon bundle

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091T6LFE/ref=ox_ya_os_product

to my brother who could activate it without a problem, afaik. Maybe that changed after Borderlands 2 got through without much trouble.
I own all the games except Riptide and Sacred 2 :D, I won't pay $25 for Riptide but should I get tier 1 just for Sacred 2?
