Grargar: Humble Books Bundle? Will that become a permanent staple?
I hope so. I'm not interested in Doctor Who books, but the Image Comics was an awesome bundle.

Psyringe: It has received its own tab on the main page, so I'm expecting it to become a permanent feature, or at least to have been planned as such.

JMich: Amnesia Fortnight also had its own tab while they were making the prototypes, but it's not a permanent feature. It may become one, but that's why I said let's wait for this bundle to end first.

JMich: And if it does become a permanent one, then it will be Tuesday for big bundle reveal or extras, Wednesday for Book Bundle (reveal or extras probably) and Thursday for Weekly bundle reveal. Crowded I'd say.
That's pretty much the trend though, I'd say. IndieGala is currently offering one or two "general" bundles, an "Every Monday" bundle, and recently a "Friday bundle", all at once. Groupees had recently 5 bundles at the same time, more than their main site could display. GOG had gone from two releases and one to two sales per week to four releases and 2-3 sales (you'll know the actual numbers better than me). Bundlestars have recently run at least 6 bundles concurrently, and have also attached a store to their site. IGS has attached a store as well. Desura is running the Daily Royale concurrently to the Indie Royale and has increased the frequency of IR bundles. Humble has added a store, a Weekly bundle, and is now running two bundles concurrently most of the time. I'd say that most of the major players in the market are looking for ways to expand their offers. Humble has made first experiences with book bundles already, the "Story Bundle" site has established that this sales format works for books as well, and (contrary to music) there isn't another game bundle seller on the market that tries to expand into books. Humble making this a permanent or at least frequent feature seems logical to me.

But I agree, it's speculation at this point. Also, as I just noticed, we're not exactly in the correct thread for that topic - sorry! ;)

I was going to get Universal Sandbox & Kinetic Void until I found out about the Doctor Who bundle. That trumps todays daily bundle.

If anyone else was wondering about a guide to X3TC, you can right-click on the game in Steam, and select "view player manual" This option is available for other games as well, fyi, just check your library.

All of which are still much much more if you bought them anywhere else. Hell Riptide alone probally goes for $9 with no DLC.

So what I can't gift them to friends and they have DRM.

People are being way to self entitled. I will continue to use Humble bundle, Hell if each game was $2 dollars each it would still be worth it.

I'm just glad to have the option to get so many good games cheap. Some bundles only have 1 or 2 games im interested but at the dollar its still worth it. If you want indivisual keys go to steam or gog or somewhere else and pay way more
Oh fuck off. You're not entitled to people's money. If they feel a product is not worth the money they are free to not purchase it and voice their dissatisfaction.

And it's not necessarily $9 for 10 games. Some people may own most of the games, or just have no desire for most of the games. I've seen plenty of bundles where I'd be better off buying the one or two games I want individually.

The nice thing is that this is available even when you don't own the game.

You're always entitled to decide whether to buy. It's just that some people talk about separate keys as if they're entitled to them.

X3:TC is really worth it... I think if there is a game where I've spent the most time of my life, it's the X series, and especially X3:TC (I'm looking at you The Hub).

We are. As consumers we're entitled to whatever we demand.

I ABSOLUTELY, 100% GUARANTEE YOU, that if every bundle HB (or anyone else) sold with separate keys sold well and those that sold without separate keys didn't, it wouldn't be long before all bundles sold with separate keys. That's the way it works. Consumers demand, suppliers respond.

But instead, today's consumers want to willingly accept any and everything, AND ON TOP OF THAT, bitch about others that point out how stupid that is.

And it's impossible to argue that getting separate keys for games vs one key for all isn't in the consumers best interest. There's no possible argument there. It is absolutely true that consumers are better off with separate keys for all than one key, because it gives them more options. So to support such sales, is to willingly go against one's own self interest as consumers.

Yet it not only happens, but those with functioning brains that point out how fucking stupid that is get hate for doing so.

It's no accident that DRM has continued to move further and further and further toward always on DRM (and it will likely be the result for every game less than 5 years old at some point) and it's no accident that games used to be released pretty much bug free but are now released and sold pretty much as BETA's now, even in "final release" form due to the knowledge that any remaining bugs will be fixed for free by the community.

And there's no scenario where it can be argued that consumers are all better off for those results. We got those results because consumers willingly, happily even, constantly act against their own long term self interest.

EDIT: Just looked, 469 as a reminder to see how much hate I get for pointing out the obvious.

Small piece of trivia. While the Humble THQ bundle and the Humble Deep Silver bundle both had the "Saint's Row: The Third" game in them, THQ with its separate keys was a worse deal for Germans, since they couldn't activate it in Germany, due to it being the uncut version. Deep Silver bundle bypassed that because the games were not separate but in a bundle key (3 games).

In this case, bundled keys were better than separate ones, even if that may have been a criminal offence in Germany.

I can play the Devil's Advocate if you want me, even if I also prefer separate keys.

Also, weirdly enough, the older HIBs had bundled keys, but they did sell well despite that fact. First HB to offer separate keys seems to have been Humble Bundle for Android 4, back in November 2012. So both type of bundles have sold well, separate keys, and bundled keys.
